Who needs Jedi and scoundrels when you can have... pilots! Many of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe are the pilots of Rogue and Wraith Squadrons, some of whom appeared in the original movie trilogy, others introduced in various novels, particularly the X-Wing series by Mike Stackpole and Aaron Allston.
