2009/11/01 Still working it - things are busy but (hopefully) it's worth the wait. Warning: It has some violence. And some profanity. Ironically enough, probably more violence than profanity, but still not safe for kids, I'm probably rating it "M". And for you H/G shippers, Ginny isn't going to be Mrs. Potter. Sorry.

2009/10/21 Update - I'm writing a story right now and I'll start posting it soon, eventually. I've got the first chapter done, but I want to wait a little while to have a few chapters after written so I've got a 'safety net' in case things get hectic for me and I'm too busy to write more. It's written in dedication to the authors of every FF I've read. Which numbers in the ten thousands. Wow. In other words, thank you for writing and keep posting, authors!

I'm a proud Leo, as well as a dog in the Chinese zodiac. Here's how I'd describe myself: cynical, lazy, (alastor) moody, cold, pessimistic, critical, and a bunch of other stuff.

I'm also a Harry Potter fan, quite obviously. The other fanfics I read on this site include Star Wars, Artemis Fowl, and Alex Rider.

The first fanfic I remember reading was Melindaleo's Seventh Horcrux. I got hooked into fanfiction after that. Since then, I have to say I've been amazed and astounded by the power of imagination of a lot of authors. Fanfiction is my way of healing my mind from that horror JK Rowling calls "The Deathly Hallows"."Half-Blood Prince" wasn't exactly great, but it was definitely better than the final installment.

Now for some personal opinions about one of my favorite fandoms. I recommend you skip this rant.

Ron. What more can you say? He's very good at several things. Ditching Harry. Making Hermione cry. Being an immature idiot. Hermione put it perfectly - He really does have the emotional range of a teaspoon. Bash him!

Ships - How did Ginny end up with Harry? Seriously? (Yes that joke was intended) She says an average of what, around 5 words to Harry per book? Then suddenly he's got a "large and scaly monster" that "roars and purrs" in his chest. WTF!?
I've got another bone to pick about this topic. Contrary to what JK Rowling may think, 6 years of arguments punctuated with a few fallouts doesn't make for a good relationship. So, Ron/Hermione? A Big NO. And Ron's a dick, anyways. Hermione deserve much better.

Personally, I kinda went through three stages for ships with Harry. In the beginning, when God crea- Woops, wrong book. I used to like Harry/Ginny. Then I realized how stupid that was. Don't get me wrong, there's quite a few damn good H/G fanfics out there - but the way Rowling "developed" that relationship was crappy. Then I moved on to Harry/Hermione. Makes way more sense then H/G. In fact, I still enjoy good H/H fanfics now and then. Now I feel truely enlightned and go for the well-written somewhat unconventional ones. Such as Harry/Daphne, for example. They're really beautiful when well written by a good author.

Here's my list of HP people that deserve to get punished. Most on this list should get killed. Violently. Painfully. Very, Very Painfully.

Dumbledore - I have to agree with the manipulative fandom idea. He's lost sight of what's made people tick. Bloody greater good.
Dursleys - Child Abuse. I mean, forcing a child to live in a closet for a dozen years? Muggles have these things called "Mental Hospitals".
Peter Pettigrew - A sniveling, pathetic coward who pretty much kills his best friends of 7+ years, as well as their one year old son.
Ronald Weasley - Not so much killed, just punished. I'm sure you've read the above rant about Ron the Insensitive.
Snape - The Dark Mark is not voluntary. And "redeeming" from murder and rape is a crappy excuse. Plus he's got that creepy fixation on Lily.
