Author has written 25 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist, Shakespeare, Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Rurouni Kenshin, Coraline, and Higurashi/Umineko series. Hello! I'm Flitter~Flutter. That's how I would write it anyway, if FF-net were kind and allowed "~". But since it doesn't, I'm stuck using a hyphen. :( I did my avatar on Paint. I'm actually a better drawer in real life...even on Paint...but oh well. I am an eighteen-year-old woman in college. I am Catholic, and very proud of being so. Nothing will ever change that. Blessed be God forever. I hate all murder--abortion, suicide and euthanasia do count--and all attacks on human dignity--rape, torture, abuse/neglect, false accusation/imprisonment, etc. God gave us life to live and love, not to take the lives of/otherwise hurt other human beings. I love music. It touches the soul in ways nothing else can. I used to have a long list of songs I love on here, but it made my profile too long so I took it off. (cries) I am a spelling/grammar freak. If I cause insult to the English language with my fics, yell at me. I tend to get very emphatic and the weirdest things will send me on a sugar high even when I have no access to anything sugary. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox A few of my favorite things: Anime: Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, most Miyazaki films, Gunslinger Girl, Fruits Basket, Rurouni Kenshin Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Psychic Power Nanaki, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Lament of the Lamb, Shaman King, Miracle Girls, Kamichama Karin, Chibi Vampire, Yotsuba&!, Skip Beat!, Legend of Zelda, Fruits Basket, Kitchen Princess, Black Cat, Dazzle, Baby and Me, InuYasha Books: The Pigman, The Pigman's Legacy, The Chosen, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, Nightbirds on Nantucket, Tuck Everlasting, Ella Enchanted, Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, My Antonia, The Left Hand of Darkness, Animal Farm, Coraline, The Neverending Story, The Lord of the Flies, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Voyage of the Dawn Treader Book Series/Trilogy/etc.: Lord of the Rings, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter, The Inheritance Cycle, The Dark is Rising, Narnia Authors: J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Chaim Potok, J.D. Salinger, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Joan Aiken, Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler, Ursula K. LeGuin, Lewis Carroll, Neil Gaiman, Paul Zindel, C. S. Lewis, etc. Movies: Dragonheart, The Dark Crystal, Spiderman 1-3, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Thumbelina, Mulan, Short Circuit, The Ring, Ringu, Ringu 0, Ringu 2, Ju On, Death Note 1-2, L Save the World, anything Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, anything by Pixar, The Neverending Story, Star Trek, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Star Wars Ep. IV-VI, Spiderman 1-3 Games: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Logical Journey of the Zoombinis, Free Cell, Myst 1-3, Fate, The Oregon Trail, Super Smash Bros. 64 and Brawl, Number Munchers, Power Pete, Lode Runner: The Legend Returns 10 Favorite Fictional Characters ever: Maes Hughes, Samwise Gamgee, Himura Kenshin, Mogami Kyoko, L, black cat (Coraline), Holden Caulfield, Severus Snape, Jack Skellington, Draco (Dragonheart not HP) I am a fan of canon pairings. I'll read other pairings if they're well-written but as a general rule I prefer sticking to canon. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Twilight Rant (abridged): Edward's a controlling stalker, Bella's a damsel in distress, the rest of the characters were unmemorable. Vampires should burn and die in the sun, not sparkle. You do not want to see the real Twilight Rant. Trust me. oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Reviews are like candy, especially constructive criticism. If you ever catch me making grammar/spelling mistakes, tell me. If you think the characters are OOC or I've ignored something important in the original story, I need to know so I can fix it/avoid making the mistake next time. I do not claim to be perfect, there will be issues with my stories as with anyone's. Your job as a reader/reviewer is to point out what these issues are. A bit about how I do things: Mostly, I write oneshots/drabbles exploring the characters' thoughts and feelings in given situations. I also like to fill in gaps or point out inconsistencies present in the original story. Though most of my fics are based around canon events, I try to approach them from a different angle than what others have done. Sometimes I'll write little parodies. I am trying to come up with some full-fledged stories, but...it's hard...college and all...-_-; You will never see me write an M-rated fic. For my purposes, K-T suffices. Since several of the fandoms I write for have swords in them, any advice concerning swords would be helpful. :D xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Disliked Fanfiction Occurences: "This summary sucks". I've probably missed out on several lovely stories just because seeing that tag makes me not want to read it. Be a little more confident, 'kay? Non-canon yaoi/yuri/slash. Incest. Pairing a child/underaged teenager with an adult (e.g. EdxRiza SnapexHarry so on). MPreg. fem!(insert male character's name here), male!(insert female character's name here). Lemons/Limes. OOCness. Parodies can be an exception to this rule, but even then you have to be careful. Mary Sues. Sue Parodies--While well-written ones are funny, for the most part these are as bad or worse than the genuine article. Most say the exact same things as each other and some are very poorly written or mean-spirited. Deliberately writing your fic poorly to make a point. I've seen this a few times, and it irritates me to no end. If you want to make a point about how to write well then by golly write well and set an example for others to follow! Referring to eyes as orbs. This will very quickly brand an otherwise well-written work as amateurish, so please avoid it. Abuse of (...) and the semicolon. I myself am guilty of this, (terribly, terribly guilty), but I have no excuse. =_=; Abuse/neglect of the comma. Commas need tender love and care :D Emoticons in the middle of fics. In author's notes and in your profile, emoticons and smilies etc. are fine. I use them all the time ;) but in the middle of the fic they are distracting. "Sweatdropped", "facepalm", etc. in the middle of a fic. Again, in author's notes and profiles, they're fine, but they are distracting in the middle of a fic. "Rated for religious themes". Bumping up the rating because the story has "religious themes" puts insult to those of us who hold our beliefs near and dear to our hearts, implying that religion is on the same level as cursing, violence, etc. If you believe in what you're writing, don't apologize, and if a character expresses something you yourself don't believe in, you can put a little disclaimer: "So-and-so's beliefs don't reflect mine." xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Disliked profile occurences: Profiles that are too long or have nothing on them at all. When someone has some heartbreaking story on their profile and says "If you don't copy/paste this to your profile you're a heartless person." There are stories that need to be told and issues that must be spoken out about, but "copy/paste or else you're a bad person" is not the way to go about it. It probably hurts your cause because "do this or else!" doesn't particularly make people eager to do what you want. It doesn't for me, at least. Anything "copy/paste onto your profile". They make profiles cumbersome to get through, it is tiresome to see the same thing in multiple profiles, and they seem like a crutch so the authors don't have to explain themselves in their own words. When people dispense with the grammar in their profile. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo The #1 thing I despise on FF-net, or on the internet in general: Flames. Messages posted for the mere sake of antagonizing someone or hurting their feelings. They are damaging, annoying and a waste of everyone's time, it hurts to read them even if you're not the one being flamed, and it makes the flamers look really, really bad. For the love of all that is good and decent, do not flame. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Well, you made it to the end of the profile. Congratulations, brave warrior, now proceed to read fanfiction! :D | |||||
