As an actor, Chekhov's thoughts on perseverance have always resonated with me. There will always be a nay-sayer. There's always a negative, judgmental, holier-than-thou smartysnot who is convinced they know more - and better - than you. Don't give them one bare wisp of smidegon of power over your creative efforts.
