Uchiha Sasuke was said to be the king of the castle and the king of the school. Everybody stopped when he opened his mouth, just hoping it was something he was going to say. It usually was a yawn and they still anticipated the yawn. People would dress up as him, they would beat people to make him proud, and they would die to be friends with him. The thing was there was only three people on his friends list. Hyuuga Neji and Ten-Ten; it seemed no one could ever remember her last name so he didn’t bother as well. Uzamaki Naruto is the lowly servant. He bows to the power in the high school. It begs not to be beaten, and if he is, he always just stands up and smiled in return. Naruto was the low on the food chain so that automatically pitted him against the king. It was expected of him to be beaten up by the king.

So when Sasuke passed Naruto in the hallway, they ignored each other. Sasuke was the king while the blonde boy was a lowly servant. It would be unsightly if they communicated to each other. It didn’t matter if they grew up together, it was wrong. To correct this you were supposed to show the opposite of how you felt. As this was the only way to survive.
