And since some people are so clueless, I will tell you guys how to make an OC character.

How To Make Up A Good OC Character For The Percy Jackson And The Olympians Fandom:

First things first: Make up a name. It could be anything. Try to make it original. You could even use your own name if you want, just have fun with it. Try not to make it too long, like the stupid name Bella uses in Twilight: Renesme. I mean, isn't that the stupidest thing you've ever heard?

Then, make up your character's appearance. Just please(I'm begging you) don't make them perfect. Don't make them some peppy blonde cheerleader whose demigod heritage ruins her life and then she learns to cope with it. Trust me, I've read enough of those. And all of them suck. Your chararcter could be athletic-looking with a lean body, or a curvy blonde geek. As you can see, I have fun with irony. Just get the image in your head and try to project it to your readers. If you can't come up with an image, go to google images and look for some ideas.

Choose Your OC's godly parent. Please don't make it Hestia or Artemis, as they have never lost their virginity. Make it someone practical, like Athena or Apollo. And if you have to make it one of the Big Three, don't make the story include the prophecy. The prophecy thing just gets annoying.

After that, make up your character's personality. They could be smart, gentle, technical, a know-it-all, a show-off, you name it. I like my characters to be sort of ordinary, like smart, a great fighter, and not good at expressing their feelings. Remember to make some flaws. Flaws are basically half your character. Like in PJO, Percy has to protect the ones he loves, no matter what the circumstances are. You could make them physical flaws or, in Percy's case, mental and emotional ones. You could base the flaws off of the OC's godly parent, or even their mortal parent. I don't know if I mentioned this in the story, but in When Two Roads Meet, Bayleigh's flaw is that she has to keep her friends safe, even when they're mad at her, or they're fighting.

Make a plot. It could be a laid-back one, like a new camper settling themselves in, or it could be intense, like going on a quest. Please, please only use a prophecy plot if the OC isn't one of the Big Three's children. There are many plots to choose from, just choose the one that suits your character.
