Author has written 9 stories for Anime X-overs, Legend of Zelda, Misc. Books, Fushigi Yuugi, Petshop Of Horrors, and Avatar: Last Airbender. Did I really not update my profile for SEVEN YEARS? Shows you how often I'm here. I'm a 27-year-old writer and would-be linguist currently living in Pittsburgh, PA (if you live locally, you should drop me a line! Always looking for new folks to hang with), studying Japanese (and beginning to study Korean, and Tagalog, and oh, nevermindalready), working at the largest public library in town, and generally having a good time. Some of my favorite fandoms are Diane Duane's "Young Wizards" books, anything by Diana Wynne Jones, Kage Baker, or Peter S. Beagle, the Mary Russell Holmes books by Laurie R. King, the graphic works for Hellsing, Piano no Mori, 1/2 Prince, Kamisama Hajimemashite, Nana, and honestly so many dozen more that it would be tiresome for me to list them here. I read an average of thirty books a month (enjoying Jeeves and Wooster right now, but I read everything; just finished reading a book about botanical fraud on the Isle of Rum, and a novel from the point of view of a dog), so it would be pretty hard to keep up a list of what I have read and enjoyed. I own a television--for the first time since I was nineteen and living with my mother--but I don't use it for TV; recently have been using it instead to run my boyfriend through ICO. I love platformers and the very occasional RPG, but I don't like things where the plot has more melodrama than sense, unless the characterization is strong enough to support it (which it generally isn't--I'm looking at YOU, Kingdom Hearts!). I practice kendo; I have so far only earned the level of 2kyu, though I will be testing next month for my Ikkyu at the Detroit tournament (any fellow kendoka, hunt me down!). I love it, and it keeps me level. I sit Zazen, though not as often as I might, these days. I am opinionated as hell. I'm a multi-ethnic bisexual feminist atheist, and I don't believe any of those things are foul words. I'm much more interested in truth than in protecting anyone's feelings, particularly my own. I have a blog over at LiveJournal, a Twitter I never use under the name MushishiGinko, a Facebook, a Myspace (ew) and an OKC account. I am easy to find online. So why not say hello, if the particles-that-are-you ever brush up against the particles-that-are-me? Since I am just starting to use FFN again, I am going through the process of pulling sub-par fic from my profile; but I don't have time or energy to do it all today. Some of what you see will be taken away, and some of it will be altered--though anything published this year or last is probably here to stay. Mostly, I'm only trying to say, if you like something you read, and then go on to another story by me and it is utter crap, I probably wrote it when I was eighteen, and it won't long linger. Forbearance, please. :P | |||||||||
