Well, I primarily enjoy reading Twilight fan fiction, and it's also what I'm writing. I'm also Team Edward. In the Twilight Saga, Edward is referred to as Bella's moon. The name Chandrakanta means "loved by the moon" so I thought it a fitting name. Yes, I'm team Edward. Why? Well, unlike some people, I'm about the CHARACTERS, not the actors. You may or may not like the actors in the movies, but that shouldn't have any influence on what you think about the character. It's not about looks or acting ability, people! I like Edward because he's a genuinely good person, even if he doesn't think he is. Yes, he has his flaws, but he tries to improve himself when those flaws are pointed out. Yes, he made mistakes, and some big ones, but who doesn't? And, many of his mistakes were made with the best intentions (i.e. New Moon). Jacob, on the other hand, has the makings to become a very bad person. You can explain some of his behavior as being an immature teenager, and also an unstable, volatile shapeshifter, but he never tries to improve himself, even when his bad behavior is brought to light. He does show some good qualities and could become a better person with time, maturity and discipline, or his bad qualities (temper, possessiveness, belittling/abusive behavior, etc.) could take over and he could've become even worse without the imprinting that miraculously saved the day. In Twilight fan fiction, I prefer canon pairings, primarily Edward & Bella stories, though I will occasionally read other pairings. I generally don't care for stories that have the following content: cheating/adultery or PWP. I also prefer HEA stories, although I don't mind angst/drama throughout. While I primarily enjoy reading Twilight fan fiction, I also enjoy a wide variety of other sci-fi and fantasy stories and will occasionally read others when I can. My favorite stories list shows many of the stories that I've read and like, unless they've been deleted. I also have several deleted stories saved on my computer. The stories I have saved, both currently available and deleted, can be downloaded at http://www.mediafire.com/?t0262wj7txeah. Please disregard the number of files showing on a folder. The number showing is inaccurate; there are many more files in the folder than it indicates. Stories are sorted by type (i.e. all human, vamp au, misc au, canon, non-canon, poly/slash). Canon refers to stories that can fit with the original books by Stephenie Meyer, whether they be different POVs of the books, or take place before or after any of the books without causing major changes to the characters and/or timelines. Non-Canon refers to stories with different pairings from the books (i.e. Bella/Jasper). The other categories should be self-explanatory. Within each category, the stories are sorted alphabetically by author. -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- o0o -- Proper Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation: The Alpha Dictionary is another excellent resource for research. It has over 1,000 online dictionaries, including slang, pronunciation, abbreviations, thesauri, grammar, etc. http://www.alphadictionary.com/slang/ is excellent for researching the slang used during different time periods. I learned about this one from jmolly, as she has Emmett speaking a lot of 1930's slang (i.e. Bimbo is used a lot, which is a 1930's slang word that means "Tough Guy", a very different meaning than the slang word it is now). Ten Words You Need to Stop Misspelling: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling How to Use an Apostrophe: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/apostrophe - I can't get over how many people misuse this! Cullens is the plural while Cullen's is the singular possessive form of Cullen, and Cullens' is the plural possessive form. That means something they own should be the next word (i.e. Edward Cullen's car or the Cullens' house). Cullen's is NOT the plural use! I actually live in Washington State, but on the other side, near the Idaho border, as far from Forks as possible. (Like Bella, I'm not a huge fan of rain and humidity...) I live just north of Spokane, although I spent my childhood in Auburn, about 30 miles from Seattle. In my life outside of fan fiction, I own and operate a web development & hosting company (Stallion Online Services, LLC) and a horse ranch (Twilight Friesians). In my horse ranch, I breed and train Friesian horses, though I also own some Arabian and Miniature horses. My websites are twilightfriesians.com and stallioninternet.com. | |||||||||
