Author has written 19 stories for Legend of Zelda, SpongeBob SquarePants, Assassin's Creed, and Breaking Bad. Hello, everyone. My username, you may have inferred, is DiamondTopaz. You may call me Michelle. I'm 26, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Graphics and a Certificate in Web Programming. I work part time in a Hancock Fabrics, and I'm trying to start my own sewing business. I'm a returning veteran to FFN. I've had an account for over ten years, but I just now decided to pick it back up. Why? Because I have so many unfinished fanfic ideas gathering dust in my head. Unlike most authors, I am not hanging onto any pie-in-the-sky dreams of getting my work published or becoming the next JK Rowling. All I want is to bring some closure to all the stories in my mind. It's just that one last loose end from childhood I want to wrap up before I fully commit to the cold, cruel adult world. Every time I pick up a new fandom, I almost inevitably get fanfiction ideas for it. I've dabbled in Final Fantasy and Assassin's Creed fandom, and I always manage to get re-hooked on Legend of Zelda. Lately, I've been suckered big time into Breaking Bad. My favorite kind of fanfiction can be described as "seamless." It works with the flow of the original source material, without changing the events or getting out-of-character. A good fanfiction should feel like an episode of the show/DLC of the game/chapter of the book/etc. it represents. Of course, a good humor fic or AU can be fun, too. :) I don't like fanfiction that completely disregards the events of the source material or the characters' personalities in the name of the author's wish fulfillment. (Often, sex.) On that topic, I'm totally for smut. However, I'm very picky when it comes to slash. I don't hate all of it and I am most certainly not homophobic. But for me to enjoy slash, or any romance, really, I have to believe that the characters would have a valid reason to be attracted to each other. Fangirls thinking it would be oh-so kawaii-desu to see them get it on is not a valid reason. You will never get a "Good job, can't wait to see more" review from me. I'm the type who likes to go more in-depth with reviews, including both praise and constructive criticism. Some people might not like it, but hollow praise is like candy. It might feel good, but it won't help you grow.
