About Me, Should You Wish to Know:

People call me PaP. I've been asked before about my unusual penname, and the explanation is simple. Honestly, I have no idea. :/

I started off writing for Sonic, branched out a lot since then. I like to think I've improved significantly during my time here and I continually strive to better myself, since perfection is unobtainable, which means I'll never be perfect. This gives me the excuse to keep plodding along at my own pace without an end in sight. I've made a lot of great friends along the way. I've also met a lot of unpleasant people. One of those things, I guess. There's bound to be at least one douche bag at every party. And this is a big party...

My favourite fandoms are Sonic, Kung Fu Panda and Portal. Wow. I am so random. There's, like, no connection there at all. Except for the talking animals and two of those fandoms being game based... uuh. Favourite characters for the above would be Rouge, Tigress and GLaDOS respectfully. Especially GLaDOS. Like, when you scream, "Portal fangirl!" I turn and say, "What? I'm very busy doing GLaDOS related stuff right now." GLaDOS is awesome.

Everybody has their own reason for being here. Personally, I love to read, and my love for reading helped me discover this place, which in turn got me to sign up. I write for the fun of it, though at the same time, I'm pretty serious about what I do. I also write as a means of expressing my feelings, and I expose myself to criticism quite intimately as a result of this (so, please, try not to be an asshole when you review with butthurt). I want to publish three hundred fanfics, but I plan to go on until I can no longer write at all (end of the internet, my death, etc). So if I suddenly vanish and stay silent for a very long time, then I probably am dead. More likely I'll die before the internet does.

Anyway, I'm a fairly reserved person. I love animals. Do not like kids. Enjoy quiet places where I can read a good book or draw something. Though the account may fool you because I don't take shit from strangers with silly pennames, in reality I'm actually very sweet. I'm one of those people who's soft on the inside and stoic on the outside. I'm mild in mannerisms and have a long fuse before I go rawr. I like being polite to everyone (except trolls, rulebreakers and sometimes plain idiots - maybe a combination of the three). I am reasonable. And like anyone, I do get cranky sometimes, so you'll have to accept me for that. You can't change me, and I cannot change you, so we'll just have to deal with any differences we have, hmm?

Always willing to extend the hand of friendship to those not likely to bite it. I've casually chatted with some of the fruitcakes on my Dumbass Wall. Safe to say, I'm not interested in befriending any of them.

The Stuff that Gets Me into Trouble (I Have an 'Opinion' and People Don't Like That!)

(ツ)I am a concritter. And proud of it. The only people who will appreciate what I do are those who are able to accept the advice of others and make an effort to follow the rules.

I have chosen to take a polite yet honest approach to reviewing, at least most of the time (I don't humour fools). I do not have to like every story I read and I know from personal experience that praise isn't everything. Regardless, it stands true that I love to be constructive if the story is worth fixing.

I will not pat the backs of rulebreakers, support plagiarists, feed trolls or rub the bellies of those who write dismally shitty fanfiction. I will warn them, and probably Report them also, but only as a final resort. Although I know that I cannot cure/remove every rulebreaker or help every beginning author, I do what I can, and that's better than doing nothing at all.

Nobody is perfect, like I have previously said, but don't be childish about it. You cannot succeed if you don't actually try at all. Really make an effort. Show respect to yourself and your readers by working hard to write good, compliant fiction, and shut up with the excuses about why you can't, or won't. If you are brave enough to write online then you should care enough to write something worth sharing with potentially hundreds (or even thousands) of people. Not everyone will like your stories, but if your fic is good and follows the rules, you can stand tall and keep writing with confidence.

A review sent to someone who I can tell is genuinely making an effort will very likely not have a Report attached, because I do not want to see such works removed. I dislike idiots and I'd prefer it if they'd take their drivel elsewhere, but I'll happily shake hands with the few people who are trying to write something enjoyable. I can usually tell pretty easily whether you're mucking around or actually want to please your audience.

(ツ)I'm doing you a service, here. You either listen to what I have to say, or you don't.

Concritting isn't always easy, especially when most of the fanfics one is expected to review amount to steaming piles of crap. Then there are those authors who think they're somehow important. That it's their God-given right to be outright rude to anyone who doesn't blindly praise them for the shit they produce. And sometimes, they have friends or family equally insane. Then they gangbang the concritters. Totally justified, right? Wrong. So like many concritters before me, I've had to grow a thick outer skin and try to be unaffected by all that. Getting offended isn't the answer.

If I review your story, I do not intend to make you cry. I have better things to do than upset little kids. I happily accept review requests from those who seek improvement, but remember that tooth rot doesn't help anyone. I'm nice, but I'll say what I think and you can either accept my opinion or refuse it. If you get mad at me, even months after the fact, then that's just fine. Your bad behaviour will amuse me, as it only proves that you shouldn't write. Why? Because your head is rammed so high up your ass that you obviously cannot tolerate honesty and you're trying to hide from it.

Stuff that Makes Me Mad, Lolz

Plagiarisers. Talentless hacks. There is no excuse for stealing someone else's intellectual property and pretending that you wrote it.

Authors who attack their concritters.

People who fail to realise that it is the site's Admin who delete stories and not the concritters who Report them.

Unfunny trolls.

People who act like unfunny trolls, but are totally serious. These people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

Gangbangers.

Belly-rubbing idiots who wouldn't know good writing if it hit them in the face. They encourage poor fiction rather than try to offer means of improving it. It hurts my soul to see opportunities for a beginner to improve utterly thwarted with every falsely encouraging OMG I LUVS IT YAYZ response given by the audience. Those aren't reviews. Call it textual vomit that only gives the author undeserved ego boosts. Then when a concritter comes along and puts the truth out there, it's all FLAMER IN THE BUILDING!!! No.

Blatant rulebreakers.

Morons who use the "but everyone else is doing it" excuse.

Kiddies who use the "don't like, don't read" excuse.

Jerks who use the "it's not my fault! I have (insert debilitating condition here) and that's why I write bad fanfiction/am a flaming asshole/both" excuse.

Whiny fanbrats.

Crappy OCs. As in, I hate almost every single OC in existence. It takes great talent to make OCs work. If you have awesome OCs, I applaud you.

Pairing wars. Anyone can love anyone, okay! So what if Sonic is with Sally or Rouge is with Shadow? They're fictional characters. Deal with it.

Homophobia. Seriously. There are more important things to be afraid of. The zombie invasion may one day come! Stock up on plants.

Romantic depictions of rape.

Weak female characters. Whether a good girl or a bad girl, the girl's gotta have substance.

Reviews that have nothing to do with the story. Might as well send me a text saying something like 'suck my donkey nuts.' It'll have the same effect.

Anon reviewers that are rude. Seriously, screw you people for thinking that acting in such a way is somehow funny. It's not. I feel really sorry for you cowards.

Mean PMs. Nobody likes those. So don't send them!

Being blocked. It just breaks my heart. It's mostly annoying, though.

Old Fics; (A Warning? Or Something)
My older stories might be a little shoddy, but I keep them here because they mark my progress, from then up until now. Read them if you wish. Concritting is a bit of a waste of your time since my old works don't reflect my current abilities, but if you feel the need, be my guest.

Incomplete Fics; (May Reach Completion)
I have a number of multichap projects which I have failed to update in some time. This is because my interest jumps around a lot and I have real life things to attend to. That does not mean they are abandoned. I may suddenly return to an old fandom of mine and write up a storm. But don't hold your breath, friends.
