Salutations! I'm Urchin. :) If the pen name seems a little ostentatious and weird to you, it's the title of one of my favorite childhood books about a squirrel. *Shrugs* Gotta love the (fictional) rodents; they make me happy.
I am always looking for constructive criticism, and long reviews are my hot chocolate and coffee. Magically delicious combination. Critiques are like my lemon cheesecake, which is my crack.
Year in College: Junior.
Goals in Life: Not Suck. I'm working on that, pretty ineffectually. *Headdesks* And to...
Not Suck At Writing
Favorite Web Cartoon: Gunnerkrigg Court. GKC is fantastic-I advise you check it out. It updates MWF. Monster Pulse is pretty good, too!
Top Three Favorite Novels: Eat, Pray, Love, With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child, The Book Thief.
Top Four Favorite Movies: V For Vendetta, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Blind Side, The Iron Giant.
Favorite Flowers: Japanese Magnolia, (We had one out back when I was small. It was very pretty!) White Rose, and Blue Iris. When/If I grow up, I want a small garden of my own. Unfortunately, I think I have a black thumb...I'm incredibly clumsy and absentminded, so everything I touch essentially dies. :(
Favorite Beverage: See above. *Points to Hot Chocolate mixed with Coffee* Tea is also nice, but not especially crazy for the stuff. Sparkling grape juice is also a favorite!
Hobbies: Writing, swimming, cooking, etc.
Personality Traits: Slightly psychotic, admittedly somewhat sadistic, earnest, a little candid now and again, absentminded (I have gone searching for things in my hands before, folks). Generally I'm a cheerful person. (My writing as of late may not show it...)
About my writing: I like to get behind the psyche of the characters, first and foremost. People tell me that I also tend to write and speak a little old-fashionably. (?) If I could, I'd be wearing Victorian dresses every day because I think they're awesome!

How To Make Lauren Happy On This Site:
Send a review, even if it's short
Send a review, even if you noticed a lot of errors in punctuation
Send a review, because you're awesome
Send a long review (Good heavens, this is just tragic), because again, you are awesome, and Lauren is mentally sending cookies (Two sentences are enough to make me smile; am not that desperate).
Favorite Music: I like classical, because it's so vigorous and alive and peaceful without becoming repetitive. My all-time favorite composer is Beethoven, and my favorite piece is the Seventh Symphony Allegretto. I also really like George Winston and Chopin.
Favorite Director: Probably Tim Burton, although I was screaming/crying during Sweeney Todd. I actually nursed a crush on Jack Skellington for a number of years. Heh...MIYAZAKI IS FREAKING AWESOME.

Story Projects I Am Doing/Considering In The Future (Please Check Out My Poll!)
This Strange And Mournful Day: Prequel to ‘These Strange and Sordid Affairs.’ A young man begins his ascend for power within the Russian mafia, as well as an affair with a young romantic.
Pineapple Upside-down Cake: Concerning a priest named Ivan during the AIDS epidemic in the nineties and a man named Alfred.
Rust and Stardust: A story of a German soldier and a young soloist behind the black gates of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Spider Rider (Name might change): When Alfred F. Jones gets caught in the literal web of a beast, it seems his time has come. Instead, in a bizarre and twisting turn of events, Alfred winds up the center piece of an ancient vendetta and a battle of worlds, as well as a savage battle that rages in his own heart and his captor. Sappy description is sappy. EnglandxAmerica.
Drowning Indigo: In retrospect, taking home the wounded octopus-man he found on the shore probably wasn’t the best idea, but it was the only one Alfred F. Jones could come up with. That and putting him in the bathtub. Rusame.
P.S, I Loathe You: Next door neighbors and good friends for many years, Alfred Kirkland and Matthew Bonnefoy actually have a long time, hate-filled rivalry, which neither is strictly aware of, much to their fathers’ dismay.
The Wooden Soldier: Newly divorced with a son who won’t acknowledge him, a dead end job, and a generally miserable existence, Arthur Kirkland is terribly lonely. Desperate for a companion, he resorts to black magic to turn one of his beloved childhood toys into a sentient being. Somewhat similar to The Scarecrow.
Deal or No Deal: Tino Väinämöinen agrees to sell his soul to the demon Berwald in exchange for his parents’ lives. But Berwald quickly becomes charmed with the human, and offers Tino an alternative to being eaten: Agree to be Berwald’s bride. Sufin.
Step Up/Thinner: Ivan and Alfred have been rivals ever since they first put on their ballet slippers, constantly antagonizing and pushing each other for every star role that comes their way. But Alfred will do anything, absolutely anything to get the lead in the coming performance, and Ivan discovers a dark secret about his longtime motivation. Will Ivan be able to rescue Alfred from himself? Rusame.
