Hello and welcome to my profile!
About me: I am Marm. Any questions? Please visit my LJ:Also, just a word to the wise: I don't write smut. (Just in case you're ever reading along and thinking, "Wait, pregnancy lozenge? Where did that come from?")
What you see below is the product of, oh, about nine years of puttering about with words, the best way to string them together, and all the other many and various aspects of writing that are one thing to talk about generally and a whole other thing to actually figure out how to put into practice. At the very bottom of this list are a few things I wrote when I was fourteen and fifteen and just tinkering with the idea of trying to write something longer than a page, and at the very top are a few things that I've written now that I've gotten my BA in Creative Writing. Suffice it to say, the closer you get to the present, the higher the caliber. So, now that we've considered the formula of time spent learning to write as it's related to writing-goodness, here's a simple way to categorize my works:
Things written 2001-2003: Likely not worth looking at.
Things written 2004-2006: Okay, but not up to snuff yet.
Things written 2007-present: Marmy-approved!
August 1, 2009: Illustrations for the Eight and Eighth Epilogue as well as other special features can be found:)
August 3, 2009: For anyone who missed the memo, I have officially retired from writing fanfiction. I might write something short from time to time, but there will definitely not be any more novel-lengths.
November 1, 2011: Plagiarism is truly not appreciated. Please remember that behind every story you read lies an actual human being who put time and effort into their writing. Trying to mooch off of someone else is pointless. What are you going to gain other than a couple reviews? Sooner or later, you will be caught and you will feel horrible about it. The end will not justify the means. Praise always feels better when you actually deserve it. If you don't feel that you're a good enough writer, just remember that everyone has to start somewhere. The only way to improve is with practice, reading, and mentoring.
If you run across a case of fanfiction plagiarism, please inform the original author. You or the author can then report it to, an LJ community. Thank you.
October 28, 2012: Since the site changed how guest reviews work, I've gone back to allowing them automatically. It was a bit of a hassle to remember to moderate them. Apologies to anyone whose reviews just disappeared because of that. But please, remember that I can't respond to questions from guest reviewers!
December 31, 2012: Oh, my goodness! The translation list is now in alphabetical order! Wow! (Not including "the.") Also, Happy New Year!
February 11, 2013: If you're so inclined, check out theat Hawthorn & Vine's LJ community.
Translation Policy: If you would like to translate any of my fanfics into your own language, please contact me for permission. As long as no one else is lined up to translate the same story into the same language, you will likely be approved. I ask only that you give me proper credit and provide me with a link to your translation so that I can post it below. Thank you!
