Author has written 52 stories for Alice, 2009, and Primeval. My name is Cassidee Brightree (Casy) and I write. :) Yes, I changed my name. Will likely change it back at some point. Long story. Currently about 65K words into it. On the Docket: Novel work. Fanfic retired, at the mo. to concentrate on original work. If you've a hankering, I'm particular about my favorite authors list. Read their stuff, they're awesome. I've been reading quite a bit of Supernatural stuff as of late, but haven't felt any stirrings to write. In the Future... Sometime: Maybe more stuff? Alice Fics: Always (novel length), then Forever (big novel length), then the Hatters Take Las Vegas (novella). Beautiful is a stand alone one-shot. The missing reels are linked in the appropriate chapters. Primeval Fics: listed below. Numerous short and Novella legnth fics Treatise on Reviews So I always review for the stories I like. Why? Because I know how much effort and heart goes into writing, and they mean so much to me. If they mean a lot to me… they must mean that much to others. If I don’t review, I didn’t like it… or it was out of character or illogical. Now, there are a few things I just don’t read. I don’t read slash fics… they generally seem very OOC to me for Connor (or Hatter), and so I don’t read them (exceptions made for rare occasions). I also don’t like to read character death fics that involve Connor and Abby or Hatter and Alice. It makes me entirely too sad, and I don’t usually read them (very few exceptions). I try to stay scrupulously honest… If I don’t love it, I don’t say I do. I'd want the same. So… I assume that if one of my chapters doesn’t get many reviews, that it is because it wasn’t good enough to bother, or my chapter was forgettable. If what I write doesn’t make you want to tell me… it must not be good at all. Bah! I know! I know… but that is how I see it. I know that sometimes people do forget. I do it, on occasion. Or maybe it just really wasn't that entertaining, I accept that... But the story… it must have purpose. I used to cross stitch, and I was very good at it. I did it a lot. I did it so much that I was starting to notice pained expressions when I gave them away as gifts. My own home does not much lend itself to needlepoint as décor. So I stopped. Same for candle making, and woodworking. Martial arts has purpose, so that is a no-brainer. Poetry and reading are the only ‘hobbies’ that I have continued despite no obvious purpose. Poetry is an outlet, pure and simple, and I rarely show that to anyone. Hmm. I suppose that is a purpose, yeah? I know, I know! I should write for the art of it, and love of writing, etc… I do. I love to write! I do, but… Bottom line? Reviews inspire me, because they give me purpose. You see, I feel like if I have readers, my story has purpose. I am writing for you, so I must continue. Not only that, but I have an obligation for it to be good. And I must improve, and give you the best I can produce. That is just how I work. Reviews are love, and they inspire me. If you genuinely enjoy what you read and want more, tell the author! This site helps. You might have noticed that I have several one shots that I call "Missing Reels." Let me explain the reference. In the movie Planet Terror, El Wray and Cherry get it on...and then the movie simulates an old movie reel burning up and melting, and then it flashes "Missing reel, sorry for the inconvenience" and picks up afterwards without showing the remainder of their...business... I have a tendency to obsess over my characters...and other characters as well. "Always" was my first ever fanfic, thanks to my obsession with a little movie called "Alice." So my first fic broke 130K words, and 50 chapters. I don't do things by halves. I learned loads writing it, and its Missing Reels. "Forever" was the sequel, another gi-normous undertaking... and then I wrote a bunch of Primeval stuff of varying length. I had a serious a Andrew Lee Potts crush, but now I'm more of a happy admirer. Supernatural and Dean Winchester have most recently stole my heart. *shrugs* Andrew will always have his place, though (along with David Boreanaz.) Thanks to dear Andrew, my husband now has a total of 30 hats... 21 fedoras :) Happy day! Although the Godric scene and the dream scenes...mmmm), El Wray- From 'Planet Terror', one of the Grindhouse flicks, Ryan Reynolds (I blame the bare chest shots in Blade III), Karl Urban, David Boreanaz (Angel AND Bones), and Brenden Frasier because #1 when they were both younger (think Airheads) he and my hubby looked alike. And #2...have you seen George of the Jungle? No... seriously. I'm going to have to add in Eddie Vedder. Why? Because he is Eddie Vedder. It's the voice. Has to be.
