I can never figure out exactly what I'm supposed to put in these things. Does anyone actually read them? Anyway:

About Me:

I'm exactly, to the day, ten years younger than my character Calista from Always In Your Shadow and The Blood of Your Veins. If you really want to figure out that math, then you totally deserve to know my birthday - and if you figure it out, I always like birthday e-mails ;)

I'm a girl (are any fanfic authors male?), and I'm seriously way too old for this stuff - and yet, it's like a drug, I can't completely outgrow it. Every time I think I've left fanfic behind (with high school, with freshman year of college, after four years of college, etc.) I come back to it.

Usually, inspiration strikes me right when I'm supposed to be writing something more substantial, like, say, a term paper.

Or this year's go at National Novel Writing Month. Ahem.

I have a lot of different interests, like everyone else, I guess, but for me the end result is that I still haven't chosen a permanant career track. Right now, I'm working in libraries, but I also make jewelry and papercrafts that I occasionally sell, and I do some digital art, most of which seems to involve making signatures for people on roleplaying forums.

I like children, but don't have any yet. I'm still pretty young, so I figure I've got some time for that later.

Right now I'm in college indefinitely, since I work full-time and can't attend classes more than half-time. I have a double major in Early Childhood Education and Art, and I've completed all the coursework for a minor in English Literature. I also have minors in Psychology and Communications, but I doubt I'll finish both. I started off in college as, of all things, a Computer Science major, and I can program in Java a fair bit. I have very minimal knowledge of C, too.

I took Advanced Placement English and Computer Science courses in high school, but as it turns out I don't really like either subject area very much. I like writing, and I love to read contemporary fiction, but I find the "classics" very boring - sorry if that sounds blasphemous, or whatever, but it's the truth! I don't mind coding, but I hate going through dozens of lines of code to find one misplaced semicolon that's throwing the whole thing off. (And if you've ever taken programming classes, you know exactly what I mean!)

I live with my boyfriend of six years, I have two cats, and I love watching that show in Food Network where they make giant cakes. ;)

About My Fics:

I like a lot of different things that have corresponding fandoms, but the only one I consistently read and write for is Harry Potter. I used to write X-Men and Dark is Rising fics, and they were completely horrible, but I think they're still floating around on here somewhere on an account I can't remember the name or password for, and if you find them, I apologize profusely, because they were terrible.

I pretty much only write about the Marauder-era characters, and my absolute favorite character in the history of literature is Severus Snape. I also like Remus Lupin an awful lot, and I have a love/hate relationship with Sirius Black.

I kind of have an obsession with giving Severus, Remus, and Sirius children for my fics. If I do romantic pairings, I will generally only do pairings that are canon, or pairings with original characters.

I don't think I'll ever write slash, I don't often write anything that's rated M, except perhaps for violence reasons, and I'll never write mpreg, because that's just weird to me, sorry.

I try to stick to canon when I can, but obviously when I write pairings with OCs or give children to characters that didn't have children in the books, I have to change things accordingly. I'll do my best to stick to what canon I can in these situations, and I'll post the details on what I've changed in the begining of the first chapter.

Current Projects:

Always In Your Shadow is finished, although I may re-write the ending sometime in the future. None of the storyline would change, just a bit of the narration. The Blood of Your Veins is the sequel to AIYS, and that's my main focus right now. My story arc for The Blood of Your Veinscalls for it to be about four times the length of Always In Your Shadow, and I am hoping to make Calista's story into a trilogy, with a third installment around the same length as the first.

I still like the idea for Innocent Blood, but I don't know when I'll get back to it.

I'm working on another story that's a series of vignettes. The basis is that each chapter will be a one-shot that focuses on an alternative version of a different event. I will start posting this as soon as I feel that I have enough chapters to make it a cohesive idea. So far, the three chapters I've written involve: Sirius besting Bellatrix in the duel in the Department of Mysteries; Severus and Lily having a child together before she married James; and Teddy Lupin being born with the lycanthropy.

I also have an idea brewing for a fanfic in which Remus Lupin was married straight out of Hogwarts and had a child early on. I won't post too many spoilers, but the way I'm envisioning this one, he'd still have a (second) marriage to Tonks later on.
