Name: NinthFeather

Origin of name: In TSUBASA: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, the ninth feather that Sakura gets back is the one she gets in Dark Tokyo/Acid Tokyo-- the one that contains her memories of being trained as a dream-seer, and that allows her to have her dream of the events in Infinity. It also contains some rather important knowledge about herself. (Trying not to spoil things…)

If you want to, you can call me Feather-chan, I guess. KuroNekoShoujo came up with it.

By the way, KuroNekoShoujo, who is also on this site, is my osananajimi (childhood friend in Japanese). She is stubborn, insane, reckless and the reason I will have a heart attack sometime tomorrow. She’s also the person I care about most outside of my immediate family. Go figure.

Despite what she might say, she is never going skydiving or even touching a motorcycle. However, she really is a Yakuza hitman. But I have plausible deniability, so no worries.

Profession: Funsucker (Reference to the Disney Freaky Friday movie with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Just because I wouldn’t let one of my friends set anything on fire…Now I‘m stuck with that reputation TT.TT) Maybe a journalist someday, but for right now, the only useful thing I do is killing other people's joy. About My Fanficton

I write what pops into my head. It's about that simple. This means I sort of play hopscotch with fandoms. I try to be good about updating, but I have other responsibilities, so sometimes I won't update right away. I'm not gonna lie and say I'll always finish every story I start. What I can promise, though, is that I will try to finish every story I post, unless I have legitimate reasons for not doing so. And, at the very least, I can promise that what I do post will be reasonably well-written, which cannot be said of every finished fic on this site. Hopefully, that will be good enough for most of you.

My fics are usually pairing-free, but when there are pairings, they're gonna be het. I tend to be more fascinated by character relationships other than romance, though, especially fictive kinship (i.e. characters who aren't actually legally or biologically family but act like they are). So you'll find a lot of that in my fics. I also like crossovers, especially between very dissimilar universes, because I like seeing the characters react to one another. Even if the universes I'm crossing over are different, though, I will try to find the connections between them, like similar characters or overarching themes. I'm not good at doing one genre at a time, so usually you'll find bits of humor mixed up in the angst, or friendship/bonding stuff in the action scenes...but that's sort of how real life is. I also like AU's because I like envisioning how my favorite series' plots would have changed if the setting of the series had been different.

So far, I haven't written anything that would deserve an "M" rating, and it will probably stay that way. Most of my stuff that is rated "T" is either for violence, some blood (it won't cross into gore unless I develop a stronger stomach) or for bleeped-out cursing. The cursing being bleeped out is because I don't curse in real life and I don't really want to write profanity, either, but I can't write certain characters without having them curse. (*cough* Edward Elric *cough*) There is a distinct lack of citrus on my fic list because I don't know how to write it and don't want to know how to write it, so the most you'll find on that front is kissing, hand-holding, and various other small, fluffy expressions of love.

A lot of people have said that I'm good at dialogue and characterization. A lot of people have also pointed out that I have trouble with pacing and that I tend to mix up details. I'm a journalism major and currently taking a class on copyediting, and also I have this lovely program called spell-check, so the spelling mistakes should be limited to typos. So, now you know more-or-less what you're in for...

Pastimes: A Sherlock fic, because I've really gotten into this show lately. And yes, this one has gratuitious knitting, too.

A Recurring Nightmare with Popcorn, my FMA/M*A*S*H crossover. I know it's a weird idea for a crossover, but it actually works really well. I've been putting a lot of effort into it, so I hope you'll all read it. Still not abandoned! I will finish this, I swear.

The Island of Misfit Toys: A Gundam 00 oneshot collection. More oneshots will be written as I have ideas...

While it's not set in stone, it's unlikely that I'll be updating Sealed Wings or Code Geass: Blind Justice anytime soon, Sealed Wings because TRC canon went kind of crazy and left my story idea seeming more AU than it was supposed to be and CG: Blind Justice because I realized that I couldn't handle the heat (or, rather, the harsh reviews) and so I got out of the kitchen (or, rather, the Code Geass fandom).

Displacement is sort of off hiatus. I'm working on it, but it won't be posted 'til it's finished, so probably not anytime soon...

*A note about images: I am adding images to ALL of my fics, even the horrible ones from back when my writing really, really sucked. The fact that a story now has a graphic does NOT mean it's off of a hiatus*

The comma is a gentle creature, peaceful, with an unassuming presence and a cautious nature. It makes its home between clauses, in front of introductory phrases, between lists and near certain conjunctions, with smaller herds breaking off and living elsewhere. Its close relatives, the em dash, the colon and the semicolon, while rarer, are also larger and more distinctive, having similar tendencies and temperament. Fascinatingly enough, its closest biological equivalent, the period, which looks almost exactly like the comma, displays a far more aggressive personality and fierce pride, always making its territory clear and presence obvious.

This is natural. Part of life. But the problems begin when bad fanfic authors take this innocent beast and misuse it.

In most places in the world, the comma alternately suffers neglect and abuse at the hands of its owners. Yanked from its ancestral home and stuck into strange and unfamiliar territory, it does not know how to support itself and survive. While steps have been taken to preserve and cultivate these poor creatures, they prove largely ineffective due to public disinterest.
