By my pen name you can probably tell I’m from New Zealand though I was born in the UK. So I’m a Brit at heart. This is reflected to some degree in my hobbies. I first got into fan fiction totally by accident and due to Farscape.
My current writing project is centred around the computer role playing game Neverwinter Nights 2 called The Knight Captain’s Rogue and aims to tell the story of the game from the point of view of a human male main character. It mainly focuses on the romance between the main character Marcus Cole and Neeshka the female tiefling he meets on the road to Fort Locke and the trials that they face as their relationship grows. So The Knight Captain’s Rogue is first and foremost a romance story. Something I’m totally unrepentant about. Also I hope that anyone should be able to read it even if they've never played D&D or NWN2.
My other writing project borrows from two computer role playing games. Baldur’s Gate II and Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. I got the idea many years ago while playing HotU after a long session playing BGII and it came to me what if the last of the Bhaalspawn found themselves mixed up in the events of HotU? How would that impact on events? Unfortunately Dark Star, Dark Past is on hold at the moment as I’d hit that thing every author hates and fears, writes block. I've actually taken it down for the time being. The title is easy enough to explain the first part comes from Serena’s last name Darkstar the second part her somewhat dark past as the last Bhaalspwan. Your past can’t really get much darker than being the last living child of the long dead lord of murder now can it? Even if you are a Neutral Good, Battle Priestess of Torm. Hopefully when I get The Knight Captain’s Rogue finished I’ll get back to it. Incidentally Serena has made an appearance in The Knight Captain’s Rogue along with Valen Shadowbreath.
PC games I own: Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undertide and Hordes of the Underdark (RPG) Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer (RPG) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II (RPG) Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast (RPG) Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal (RPG) SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars and Dragon Storm (RTS) Silent Storm (Turn based Stratagey) Icewind Dale I and II (RPG) Jade Empire: SE (RPG).
Xbox 360 games I own: Halo 3 (1st person shooter) Mass Effect (Action RPG) Tomb Raider: Legend (Action/Adventure) Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Action/Adventure).
And no you're not seeing things the majority of games I own are computer role playing games of one sort or another. There is something enjoyable about leveling a character up and making them what you want them to be. A wziard, warrior, cleric, rogue ot Jedi Knight.
Hobbies (when I’m not sat in front of the comp or the telly playing the X-box 360!) I model British Railways in OO Gauge between 1968 and 1980. I have a leaning towards Rail Blue diesels as I was born in 1974 which was the heyday of corporate Rail Blue. I also collect 1:76th scale (OO Gauge) die cast vehicles and have a fair sized collection of EFE and OOC buses and trams, EFE, Trackside and Base Toys Commercials. My other passion is German WW II armour. I have a cupboard full of mainly 1:72nd and and some 1:35th Scale kits. Also I collect the Dragon Armour 1:72nd ready built models.
