My name is Nicola and I am eighteen-years-old. My passion has always been writing - be it poetry, prose or screenplays - I love every single element of the beautiful art. I began writing at the age of five - I used to make up stories at a younger age, but considering I began to forget a lot of them, I began writing them down from then. I have found poetry written from the same age, but if I recall correctly, I began writing poetry as a hobby at the age of seven.

Well, time for a change in profile considering I have changed a lot over the last few months. How I could describe myself in school was miserable and introverted, but ever since starting University, I have met so many great people and made new friends who are genuinely lovely people. :) I am still painfully shy when it comes to large social gatherings, and I admittedly take the quietest back-routes to and fro lectures, but I am so much happier since leaving school and going to Uni. The notion that there are nice people out there, and people that actually "get" me is all so new to me, and I could not be happier at the moment. :) Also, my lecturers are such great people and it's a pleasure to meet such intelligent people on a daily basis. Nice to converse with those who know more than one about a subject - always results in learning something new!

My interests outside writing are playing guitar, bass guitar, and, most importantly, reading. I have a deep-seated respect for animals. I hope, if I ever have a lot of money to my name, to help charities devoted to animals. If I didn't wish to be a writer, Veterinary is something that also called me. However, I would not have been intelligent enough to become a vet, so that had to be put on the sidelines. I hope also, that when I have more free time, to volunteer for animal welfare places.

Aspirations: Become a author of poetry, novels and screenplays. Also, to get a PHD in English, as to earn the title: "Dr. Nic" (Simpsons fans will understand. ;) )
Religion: Atheist.
Marital Status: Single (i.e. sane.)

Current Reccomendations:

Poetry by Sylvia Plath. She's an amazing poet, and my personal favourite (and no, not for the angst. I love her use of metaphors and poetic voice. I love her poetry, not her biography).
Novels by Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters.
Music by The Clash or Blondie.
