Author has written 43 stories for Pride and Prejudice, Stargate: SG-1, House, M.D., Battlestar Galactica: 2003, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Lost, Bones, Farscape, West Wing, Veronica Mars, and X-Files. I have been writing since around 1998; I fandom-hop a LOT, so you will find a diverse amount of ships and shows that I write for. You may know me as Alice J. Foster, or shipperfey or just Fey. Because I expect all my readers to be honest about my stories, I'm very critical of others' written works as well. English is not my first language - that fact is evident in some of my older stories (X-Files & Buffy) - so I don't let writers off the hook for their stories just because they use the "my English is not very good" card. Even if I don't agree with the content of your story, I still expect it to be coherent, properly punctuated, spellchecked and formatted in a way that's pleasing to the eyes. I'm also a big fan of characterization - if you don't want to be confined to writing characters the way they act and speak in canon, create your own universe and your own characters. Even if it's an AU, the characters still have to act the way they act in the source material, and any deviation needs to be justified. Writing fanfic is about the journey and overcoming the obstacles, it's not about getting reviews. Don't take shortcuts - if something doesn't feel right, re-write it until it does. Do the research - Wikipedia and Google are out there. Don't sell yourself - it's your story, and you should know where it's going, you shouldn't be doing what reviewers are asking.
