Dont get sucked in to the hole of Mary Sue OCs, and employ a Rowling original. Most of these charectors are easily molded and undeveloped, you have almost free reign. So don't waste your time creating an OC named Germione Hranger with a strong resemblance to Harrys best friend Hermione.
