Author has written 13 stories for Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XII, Mass Effect, and Naruto. Name: Kaasan Faerlyte B. Age: 25...dear god I'm a quarter of a century old. Place of Residence: Rural Alaska Avatar: For anyone wondering, that is indeed my pumpkin carving in the picture. You can find it over on my deviantart account by the same name, Faerlyte. Favorite games: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XII, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, Gears of War, Prince of Persia, Halo/Halo2/Halo3, Suikoden 3, Dynasty Warriors, Jade Empire, Fire Emblem. Samurai Warriors...hmmm, am I forgetting something? Oh yeah, duh, Mass Effect. Favorite Anime/Mangas: Well...my current obsession is Naruto, having bled dry all my other fanfiction standbys (Inuyasha, Final Fantasy, etc). Favorite characters: Judith (ToV), Tifa, Kakashi, Kisame, Penelo, Angeal(liked his character design more than anything), Sephiroth, Geddoe, Kratos, Zhang Liao, Basch, Zhou Yu, Squall, Kagome, Ashe, Reeve... Favorite pairings: Tifa/Sephiroth(because I'm weird), Penelo/Basch (love knows no age...right?) Tifa/Vincent, Kagome/Sesshoumaru, Kakashi/Sakura...wow, I seem to be setting a trend here, eh heh. Anyhow... About this Author : UPDATE as of 6/1/12 - is it really 2012? WTF happened to all that time?! I'm trying to think of something catchy to say and I just don't got it. Well, the card isn't as new and it is currently out of date, but it does certify me as a private helicopter pilot, and it is still in my wallet...collecting dust. At this rate I'm going to have to join the Coast Guard if I want a chance in Hades of pursuing helicopter flying as a career choice. To be honest, I'm not too keen on all the sitting down anyway - I like need to be active! So I picked up a winter job at Target working the 4 am shift for a couple months, and along with it relationship, both of which ended in March because I'm an idiot and never should have been in either in the first place. That was fun. Not. On the bright side, I did earn myself a little cash to make truck payments for the winter until my summer job at Fish andG ame started in May. I am paid to play in the outdoors and conserve wildlife, which are two things that I love to do. I'm a person of many interests, which is the beginning of a long and convoluted excuse for why I take so horrendously long to update my stories. I've got lots of things I like to do and they're all vying for my attention. For instance, my favorite - procrastination! Well, that's not really an interest. We've got a love/hate relationship going on... If you want to get specific in the Kaasan Interest Department, I guess I'd start with the obvious one, which is writing. Then there's drawing/art, running, American football (watching and playing, NFL style), sports in general (I'm an ultra competitive person), video games, reading, multiple instruments that I rarely play anymore because I'm a slacker, horses that I occasionally ride, the outdoors, fishing/hunting (interest as in, I'd like to have food in the freezer this year, so I better go get some), aaand...what else...oh yeah, traveling. I love traveling, experiencing different cultures, visiting monuments of ancient history - love history. And anything fantasy or science fiction. I'm holding out that some aliens will come by and notice the towel over my shoulder with my thumb stuck in the air. Dragons are the closest thing I have to a religion. That's right. Worship the winged lizard and he won't reorganize your face. I'm not much of a worshiping person actually, but they are my talisman - the color of my soul. They only release their wrath on anonymous flamers. I hope you like the smell of burning hair. Um... I don't write smut. I mean, I could try, but I'm 99 percent sure that I'd fail so badly people would be laughing themselves off their seats (hey now, this could be the beginning of a satire). Maybe if I wore a paper bag over my head, but even then I'd feel too utterly ridiculous to carry it through to the end. I'll read it on occasion if it's relevant to a story. It shouldn't be the plot though - that's what we call a Romance Novel. Oh snap, did I just say that? :P I kid, I kid, but anyway. Smut away peeps, but you're not likely to see it in my writing. Not likely. Story Statuses: Doot, doot, doot... Black Feathers - Total freaking disaster. I'm not continuing it because I honestly hate it with a passion. Although...I've had a recent influx of reviews for it, and flames, so maybe I'll dish out another chapter just for the hell of it. Spear of Ares - Honestly, I love to read Vincent/Tifa fics, but I can't seem to write one to save my life. This one is quite bad, I admit. I'm not sure why it's still up even. I guess my heart just isn't in it. Which kind of begs to question just why I'm so adamant about writing the much stranger pairing, Tifa/Sephiroth. Ah, who knows. They just hit the right chords I guess. A Side Story - Read previous paragraph...I really need to do more planning before I start posting things like this. The same goes for... Nurturing the Buds of Love - which was basically pointless, but okay. I had an idea for it at one point, but that whole thing just totally derailed on me when A Side Story lost its interest (they were interconnected). Still active: Fall into Ecstasy - YES! I'm finally about to finish another fanfi - or not... As you can see, I've completely fallen off the wagon on that one. I mean, I should really just forge ahead and finish the damn thing, but it...it annoys me! There's so much wrong with it! I suppose you could say that I like to take on the challenging ones, or ideas rather. A lot of people don't take well to the pairing of Penelo and Basch, but because I like them I set out to change minds. Too bad I messed it all up. Mass Effect - Whew, my maiden voyage into territory beyond Final Fantasy. At the beginning I was really hyped about it because I liked how the writing turned out, but...have I mentioned I'm lame? Oh my heathen gods, I'm trying to write Naruto fanfiction when I haven't even finished 75% of what I've already started! Kill me now... The Warrior - I know, I know, I have no shame. This one is going to be long, you know, if I ever get around to actually writing it, which seems to be a reoccurring problem for me as of late. I think I've got FFWADD - FanFiction Writing ADD. FYI: I like strong female characters so I tend to write them that way, but in my vocabulary "strong female character" does not equate to being a colossal B-I-T-C-H. There is a trend for the two to coincide it seems. I'm a strong advocate of the adage "Walk softly and carry a big stick". Just because you're strong doesn't mean you're shoving it in everybody's face. In fact, it's quite the opposite in my experience. The strongest most capable individuals are often times the most quiet and unassuming. Strong people have weaknesses, they have vices, and they have emotions. What makes them strong is the fact that they have the self-awareness to recognize their faults and acknowledge their mistakes, so that they can improve upon themselves. To everyone who has ever reviewed my work: Encouragement is a wonderful thing to receive and a tremendous motivator. I can't thank you all enough for the time you take to share your thoughts with me. I may not always update the swiftest, but it's your encouragement that keeps me coming back when life drags me away. My stories are never far from my mind and are often a point of guilt when I haven't updated in a long time - it bothers me a lot, but I find that I can't avoid it. Things just happen. So thank you for sticking with me and reading my stories. I try to provide the best and most meaningful entertainment I can, which is why sometimes it does take me longer than I'd like. I want it to be the best that it can be. Take care everyone, and happy reading and writing. Kaasan (Faerlyte) | |||||||
