Poll: Which crossover idea would you like to see made first? Vote Now! |
Author has written 1 story for de Blob. Even if you skip the rest of my profile, please read this! I made a decision a while ago, when I first entered the world of fanfiction. This decision has alienated me, prevented me from reading many (potentially good) fanfictions, and caused many problems. However, I do not regret it. This decision was that my religion comes before anything else I could find here. That means that I do not read or write fics with same-sex, incestuous, or polygamous pairings. I also do not read anything with sex - especially outside of marriage. The same applies for fics that say something that is against my religion. I know some of you may be upset at me for this, but my relationship comes before anything else in my life, so my mind is made. Thank you for your time. As you may have noticed from the poll, I am a lover of crossovers - though not just the usual one-shot ideas or parodies. My passion is taking characters from one fandom and inserting them into another fandom, affecting the story and being affected by it. Unfortunately, I do it so much that I can't pick one to use! Please vote on the poll at the top of the page. I will try to write out the highest-ranked ones. I may plan out stories involving incomplete works, but until the series is finished, it will NOT be posted. Keep this in mind. Favorite Series (for now): Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto, The Hobbit (though I don't write anything but one-shots for it), Kingdom Hearts Favorite Quotes: "Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger." J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup." Draconian proverb "Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and will pee on your computer." Feline proverb "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." Inigo Montoya, Princess Bride [More to be added] Favorite Characters, in No Particular Order: Yugi Mutou (Yu-Gi-Oh!), Miles "Tails" Prower (Sonic), Kakashi Hatake (Naruto), The Dwarves Bilbo Gandalf (The Hobbit, other Tolkien works), Kuu (Haibane Renmei), Medli (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker), Misty (Pokemon), Brock (Pokemon), Claire (Professor Layton), Luke & Layton (NOT LIKE THAT)(Professor Layton), Xion (Kingdom Hearts), [To Be Continued...] Personal Pet Peeves: Spelling/Grammar Issues: For the love of cheesecake, please, please, please get a betareader! I have good spelling and grammar, but I still have someone read over my stories before posting - it not only clears up spelling/grammar, it helps the quality of the story itself. Please. Mary Sues: Most of you should know this one, but for those of you who don't, a Mary Sue is a character that is flawless. Some of you may wonder why this is a bad thing, but to the reader, reading 20 chapters of your OC being praised and glorified and defeating everything easily gets rather...boring. Speaking of which... Sue-ified Main Characters: I don't mind AUs - in fact, they're most of the reason I'm on this site. However, AUs where these slight changes cause the center of the story to become overpowered and defeat everything is just as boring as an OC doing this. Most of what makes a story compelling is the challenges a character faces and how they overcome these challenges. If you make everything ridiculously easy, it doesn't make for a compelling plot. Another thing that makes this irritating is how this came about. I know they may have had this potential, and may have even achieved this amount of power (or even more) later, but that doesn't mean that they can suddenly magically achieve it instantly. Yes, some circumstances may cause them to get it faster, but (as an example) Naruto taking some time to focus and learn in school does not magically cure all of his character flaws, nor will it guarantee his victory against Orochimaru in the Chuunin Exams. Please stop and consider the character's flaws and how much improvement is too much. OCs: I know many of you want to write about your OC with cool powers from , and if you really want to then go ahead, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. My purpose for reading fanfiction is to read about the main characters, not a new one. I know I'm a bit prejudiced against OCs here, and I'm sorry for that - but about 99% of all fics involving OCs are self-inserts, next-gen, or AU. Not that all fics involving these are bad - for example, Sleeping With the Girls is a good multi-crossover about a self-insert that universe-jumps, but that has been the only self-insert fic I have ever found that has not overpowered the insert or put all of the focus on just them, and that's because it was written specifically not to. If you know of a fic with OCs that is actually good and makes for a compelling read, feel free to send it to me and prove me wrong - I love a good fic. However, OCs are not my cup of tea. All copy-paste stuff is under this line - if you don't want to spend a few minutes reading it, just skip down to the stories from here. A large percent of writers don’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re.” If you’re one of the ones who does know and wants to slug them, copy and paste this into your profile. Many of the people on fanfiction can't tell the difference between to, too, and two. If you know and you feel like banging your head on a random nearby object whenever you see it, copy and paste this into your profile. Most of the people on Fanfic can't figure out where apostrophes go. If you know and are getting sick of seeing things like its' instead of it's copy and paste this into your profile. There’s nothing wrong with arguing with yourself. It’s when you argue with yourself and LOSE that it's weird. If you agree, copy this and put it in your profile. If several inanimate objects hate you, post this on profile. If you haven’t died yet, copy and paste this onto your profile. If you have ever walked into a doorway that you could have clearly dodged, copy and paste this into your profile. If you are addicted to Fan-Fiction, copy this. I don’t write slash! If you don’t write slash, copy and paste this into your profile. If you have ever pushed on a door that says pull (or vice versa) copy and paste this into your profile. If you can listen to music for hours on end because it touches your heart, copy and paste this. If you ever read fanfiction past two in the morning, copy and paste this to your profile. OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. -- Girlbender875, Jedi Master Misty Sman-Esay, xXJedi Knight BlazeXx, Jkittycat If you believe that life starts at the moment of conception and that abortion is therefore immoral, copy and paste this into your profile and add your name to the list: Obiwanlivesforever, Xaja Silversheen, Araloth the Random, Maevainwen Adaniel, daisymall13, Jkittycat I have a one-time gift. A beautiful gift that many people are ridiculed for in this day and age. A precious gift that many people throw away. It's called "virginity", and I plan to not waste it on some jerk of a boyfriend who's just gonna dump me later.
