Gah!

I've never written a profile up for this place because I NEVER write anything (with the exception of reviews for all the rest of you lovely people that have the gift I don't hehe). But I absolutely had to post something to mark this wonderful day :D

If you are a part of the LoVe fandom - the select few but determined lot of us Veronica Mars junkies that just refused to let go of our favorite little sleuth then perhaps you understand.

First, suspense- UPN is combining with The WB... Veronica Mars may not make the cut! Then excitement that a 3rd season would air on the new network - The CW.. only to be a completely different show. Ultimately this led to a decline in viewership and the inevitable cancellation that followed. After 6 years of agonizing over the completely open series finale that really left us with more questions than answers (Exhibit A: ff.net - I mean look at the thousands of fics aimed simply at providing a sense of closure), we can finally be at ease. A movie!

Rob announced late on 3-13-2013 that he finally received a green light from WB to produce a movie. So long as he could prove there was a big enough audience they would distribute the film. I believe the goal was to raise $2,000,000 in 30 days time to show WB that there was a big enough following. It's been a little over 24 hours now and the Kickstarter page has raised over 3.2 million dollars from over 48,000 supporters. Needless to say, that green light is going to stay green! Go VM fans!

I mean I'm trying REALLY hard here to not get so hyped up about this news because let's face it, season 3 was a bit of a let down in retrospect. It was still awesome because it involved all the characters that I'd come to know and love. But I feel like the networks had too much of a say in how the stories played out. Rob really didn't get the chance to give us a season 3. It was like The CW's version of Veronica.

With all that said, please please (if you haven't already) donate something so we can make sure to have the very best and most -genuine- ending to this beloved series. I mean if every one of the 3 million viewers donated just 1 dollar to the cause that's $3 million! And people have already taken up some of the highest prizes : $10,000 $5,000 etc. Honestly I feel like the fandom has done nothing but grow since cancellation so it really doesn't surprise me that so many people have already pushed it over the mandatory $2 million dollar marker :D

To donate, go here!

!!!! I just can't get over that we're actually getting a movie hehe. I can't wait :)
