Author has written 9 stories for Transformers, Transformers/Beast Wars, Gates, Doctor Who, and His Dark Materials. I’m a longtime lurker – more of a reader than a writer. Finally, inevitably, I got bitten by a plotbunny so savagely that I had half a fic mapped out before I knew what I was doing. I figured I may as well post it here for the amusement *cough*derision*coughcough* of others. Ironically, though it was a Transformers fic that brought me here, I am a biologist by trade. Expect random nature related factoids here and there. They just slip in, sometimes. Blood Ties Prowl’s beast form is a Utahraptor, though his coloration (and this whole fic, really) is based on Anchiornis huxleyi. Jazz is a coyote with melanism. Stormhunter is a spotted hyena. Arcee is a pronghorn; Red Alert is a black-tailed jackrabbit; Smokescreen is an Utahraptor (though not related to Prowl). Hound is a bluetick coonhound; Creosote is a javelina (and named for the creosote bush); Westerly is an osprey; Drumbolt and Mercury are both primitive-type horses similar to a Przewalski’s horse. Ratchet is a Kodiak bear and Wheeljack is a raccoon.
