Author has written 15 stories for Lark Rise to Candleford, Robin Hood BBC, Outnumbered, Misc. Movies, Roman Mysteries, Time Traveler's Wife, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Merlin, Glee, White Darkness, Harry Potter, and Downton Abbey. Hello there! Welcome to my page and all the randomness that resides here. My name's Jessie and I am a student in rainy old England. I study Foreign Languages and Sciences, so sorry for any grammatical errors in my English. I spend a disproportionate amount of time reading, be it fanfiction or normal novels, in any language that I can understand - I study French and Spanish, I did Italian last year and have just started Mandarin and am loving it!! I hope you enjoy whatever you find here, and if you Review or PM me, I promise to reply! Nice seeing you! A bit about me... Favourite TV Shows: Downton Abbey, Glee, 90210 (although recognising that it is in fact a rubbish show, it's fun to watch!), Robin Hood (BBC Version), Merlin (BBC Version), Casualty 1909, Cranford, Lark Rise to Candleford (I'm obsessed), Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, All BBC Jane Austen Adaptations (the 2005 P&P is less good, IMO), and just generally most period dramas (especially North and South), Sotuh Riding (that was SO awesome) and I've just got into Doctor Who, all because of my good friends RowenWild and Sincemarchoflastyear. Favourite Films: Sound of Music (!), Mary Poppins, Swallows and Amazons, Juno, all HPs, Notting Hill, Love Actually (totally awesome), (and just generally Hugh Grant and/or Colin Firth and/or Alan Rickman and/or Liam Neeson films), again almost all Period Dramas, Peter Pan (2003, NOT disney), Narnia (both 1 & 2), Ballet Shoes (one of the few films which is better than the corresponding book), Freedom Writers, A la Folie Pas du Tout, El Laberinto del Fauno, Paris Je T'aime, Amelie, Y tu Mama Tambien, Como Agua para Chocolate, The Illusionist (the french 2010 cartoon, not the turn-of-the-century Vienna 2006 one (Although I've never seen that one, so it might be just as good!)) Favourite Books: The Flambards series - KM Peyton (especially no. 4, Flambards in Summer), All Harry Potters - JK Rowling (obviously) ( i think my favourite is the 3rd but it changes pretty much daily), The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger (which is even more beautiful in french, Le Temps N'est Rien), Roman Mysteris - Caroline Lawrence (especially the Sirens of Surrentum), Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Caroll, Narnia - CS Lewis (especially The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), The White Darkness - Geraldine McCaughrean (although I don't like the ending), Kommandants Girl - Pam Jenoff (and I am in an ongoing argument with AboutAMessOfADreamer as to whether this or the sequel, Diplomats Wife, is better), The girl in the Flammable Skirt - Aimee Bender (Short Stories). Favourite Poets: Christpher Reid (esp. A Song of Lunch), Kim Addonizio, Pablo Neruda, Jeffery McDaniel (esp. The Quiet World), Sylvia Plath (esp. Mirror), Gabriel Okara (esp. Once Upon a Time), Liz Lochead (esp. Riddle-Me-Ree) and, of course, Dorothy Parker. Favourite Pairings: Glee: Emma/Will, Quinn/Puck, Brittana HP: Harry/Ginny, Lupin/Tonks :( Lark Rise To Candleford: Laura/Fisher, Dorcas/Sir Tim (best ever!!!!), Dorcas/Mr Delafield, Alf/Minnie (so sweet), Dorcas/Gabriel Cranford: Jesse Brown/Major Gordon, Sophy Hutton/Dr Harrison Veronica Mars: Veronica/Logan, Mac/Max, Veronica/Leo, Veronica/Duncan (Well, veronica's just awesome anyway, isn't she?) Gilmore Girls: Rory/Jess, Rory/Dean, Lorelai/Max, Lorelai/Chris, Lorelai/Luke Merlin: Merlin/Freya :'(, Gwen/Arthur, Morgana/Mordred (in an evil alliance way, not a weird paedophile way), Morgana/Morgause (again, evil alliance not freaky incest) Robin Hood: Marian/Robin, Djaq/Will, Alice/Little John, Isabella/Robin, Isabella/Prince John Casualty 1909: Dr Culpin/Ethel, Laura/Saul Landau, Matron Luckes/Mr Holland Ballet Shoes: Garnie/Mr Simpson And, of course, all Jane Austen pairings. Unhealthy Obsessions at the Moment Include: - Downton Abbey ITV Series set in the early 1900s. - Kommandant's Girl by Pam Jenoff (currently reading the sequel, Diplomat's Wife) - Wallander (both the Swedish TV Series and the BBC Kenneth Branagh one, currently reading Henning Mankell's novels) Lastly Review! I will reply! They make me unhealthily happy! x | |||||||
