A little about me

My name is Katie which is not short for Katherine although many people believe so. My birthday is Feb 17th. I am a recent high school graduate. I am currently majoring in criminal justice and want to be a cop or something like that. I believe that is one of the reason I like crime shows so much is that I can see myself doing that job in the future.I love to play sports. My favorites are softball, dance, gymnastics,cheerleading,surfing,lacrosse,soccer,field hockey, and ice hockey. Sometimes I use one of my favorite sports as what a character does in a story. I like to listen to music, especially country and I love to read and write. I have been writing for as long as I can remember and have alwyas loved it. I get inspired from different things. I like to write poetry, mainly free verse. Also I can be very deep and passionate at times and dark and twisty at others. Although I am not much of an artist I sometimes draw a picture to go in the background of a writing when it is done on paper. I am a die hard Washington Nationals, New York Yankees and Mets fan.

This past February my best friend who was very much like a sister to be was killed by a drunk driver. She died on impact on February 23, 2012. That was 6 days after my birthday and two days after hers. We use to work on all of our fan fiction stories together. She was the one who originally introduced me to this world. I am the girl ... that does go to school dances, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book or write. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. I am the girl that spends most of her free time reading, writing, or doing other activities that most teenagers wouldn't call normal. I am the girl that people call weird, and a freak either behind my back or to my face. I am the girl that doesn't spend all her time on Facebook, or talking to a girlfriend on a cellphone or a regular phone. I am the girl that hasn't been asked out in a year. I am the girl that has stopped to smell the flowers and jump and splash in the rain.

But I am also the girl who knows and is proud to be who she is, doesn't care if people call her weird, who loves reading and writing and doing the things that no one seems to have the time to do any more, who can express herself better with words, and knows the importance of the little things.
