About Me Name: My real name is Natalie. I acquired the alias princesstaranee when my friends and I were playing a game when we were younger. I chose the name Taranee. I’ve always wanted to be a princess, so voila. I figure it's better than what my arsehole room mates call me (NatC - say it allowed, you'll get it). Age: 18, finally! Gender: The best one. Place: A beautiful little town, known as the Bubble, but more commonly as St Andrews, Fife. Nationality: I’m British. Education: Ah, fourteen years straight of state schooling. I studied Psychology, Politics, English Literature and French at AS, then dropped Politics at A2. I recently left school and am studying Psychology, English Literature and History at the University of St Andrews. I'm a first year. Employment: I used to work in a fish and chip shop, because I am awesome, and now I am employed as a temp by the uni. Favourite things: Books: Oh, so many! EngLit is my favourite subject. Here are the ten that first pop into my mind: The Great Gatsby, The Kite Runner, Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Jane Eyre, Noughts & Crosses, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Color Purple, Rebecca, The Handmaid’s Tale. I would recommend any of them, except The Great Gatsby. Nothing happens in it, so unless you have studied it, you will probably have no love for it. Singers/bands: Taylor Swift, P!nk, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Selena Gomez & The Scene, McFly, Owl City (and all other incarnations), Demi Lovato, Carrie Mac, Beyoncé… I like lots of stuff. No particular genre. Just good lyrics. Places: My hometown is the epitome of ‘quaint’ and ‘rich’. I love it. Cambridge seamlessly mixes old and new and is also quaint. Salamanca is a university town. Me gusta. Paris. Boppard. Segriés. Antalya. People: My English teacher of three years, Mr Bean, who continues to inspire me, with his name and his love of the written word and his intelligence. Stephen Fry. Miss Seedall, the most awesome feminist whose quarter-life crisis has led her to go do a Master's in Psychology at Manchester next year. Albert Einstein. Eleanor Roosevelt. The Bishop of York. Nelson Mandela. Wow, I need more women in this list. Television shows: Doctor Who, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, The Big Bang Theory, QI. Films: Stardust, Shakespeare in Love, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet, Ghost, Tangled, anything by Pixar... Lots of stuff! Politics: I support the Labour party (or at least their philosophy). Everyone should have equal opportunities to become whoever they want to be. Beliefs: I'm a Christian. I review for a review. If you give me a proper review with constructive criticism and tell me which story of yours you would most like me to read, I will review it for you. We need to improve as writers! Anyone who can draw or take photos, I would be forever in your debt if you wanted to make cover images for my stories. I'll pay you in stories, or beta-ing, or simply by giving you a review.
