Even though it states that I was a member since July of 02, I first found this place in the winter of 00'. Yea took me 2 years to finally gather enough courage to finally join this thing-ama-jig (considering the fact that I was 11 and didn't entirely know all - that is the web). There still are good writers here, just not as much as there was back then. Man I remember when you were looking for something good to read, you found something. And there was always new stories that were totally different from all the others, everything was not just Severitus challenges, Harry escapes the Dursleys, and Harry gone bad stories. I'm tired of people taking other authors ideas and writing the same thing, you can't keep shoveling me the same shit and call it sugar. I know what it is. For God's sake use the damn spell check, you're suppose to make your story presentable and readable.
ADVICE: You want people to read your story, come up with an original idea! Yes. All on your own (omg! On my own!). Yes on YOUR own. You got a brain so make something up, don't take other peoples ideas. It's alright if your story has something similar from another story just don't make it too similar. Also, make the chapters at least 2,000 words a piece, cause nobody wants to read a short story.
Thoughts Swimming in Brain:
I am a Slytherin advocate as you can see. House of Serpents (it caters to my dark tendencies). It makes me mad that authors tend to just ride the house rivalry bit to where its just plain ridiculous. The authors aren't really taking you into the magical world that is Harry Potter, the possibilities are endless. Then some authors make out wizards and witches to be so magically weak that for most of the time, you could just be reading about some random teenagers. A lot of stories just don't do the idea of Harry Potter justice. There are millions of witches and wizards all over the wizarding world, but to most readers there seems to be only thousands. Also the wizarding world JKR made really pisses me off cause it could have so much more dynamic in magic and make it ten times better. Also the authors who write that stunners is what seperate the good guys from the bad guys can go eat shit. Its a war...people kill and die in wars. You can ONLY win a war if the enemy is dying. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL! Harry would want to kill these bastards who killed his family, his godfather, and Dumbledore.
