All my fiction centers around Hellion (Julian Keller) and X-23 (Laura Kinney). I call this pairing "Helix", a term coined by one of my fans a long while back.

Hellion is a cast member of Wolverine & the X-men written by Jason Aaron, and sometimes appears in "X-men Legacy".
X-23 is a cast member of Avengers Academy.

FAQ

Why the hell do you take so long to update?

I am attending University and majoring in Pre-Medicine. This means Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology...time consuming! I also work part-time, am engaged, have a rabbit and a young kitten, and some health issues. These all take time as well. I write almost every day, but fanfiction.net has a very bad editor, so I find doing updates takes quite a bit of time. I like to set aside evenings to batch update. So just be patient, it'll come along. If this was a job I was paid for then I could devote more time to it, but oh well!

Will you beta read my story?

I just barely have time for my own stories as is...so sorry, my automatic answer is no. Beta reading takes a lot of time to be done right.

Do you know of any good beta readers?

I proofread my own stories, so no, I don't. Try using the 'Betas' search feature on fanfiction.net...I'm sure there's a lot of great beta-readers out there that would love to help!

What advice can you offer for my writing then?

Read. Read and read and read to develop your style. Then write and write and write some more, and when your fingers start bleeding, you might be ready to publish. But seriously...I have some suggestions. I get a lot of beta-requests for fics involving Helix and OC's. No OC's. They are just bad ideas in fan fiction. If you really must have one...they need to:

1) Not be overpowered- if they can beat the X-men with their pinkie finger, chances are you've overpowered them--give them limits! No one wants to read a story about a character who can overcome absolutely anything without difficulty.

2) Not be too quirky. Don't overdo accents, or attitudes. I may be guilty of this myself, but I've been improving in public (these stories are me developing my writing style over the years)

Do you have trouble coming up with plots, or...how does your brain work?

My head is likeDubstep Nyancat inside. No, I'm serious. This is how my brain works. I have absolutely no trouble coming up with plots. I will literally glance at someone on the bus and BAM!I have a fully formed Helix plot hatching in my head. Music spawns fully formed plots like crazy. Why do you think so many of my stories have song titles? If anything I suffer from OverPlot disorder, in which I get too many ideas. I only post about a third of the stories I've written or started.

What is your record with Nyancat?Not a FAQ, but I thought I'd note I went at least 6 hours. I will probably do this again for Summer break. Me and my writing buddy paperazzi have competitions about this. We listen to nyancat and write batshit crazy Helix...

What do you think of X-23 #19 (where Laura broke Julian's little heart)

Narwhal balls. More seriously...the break had to happen, because Laura was being moved to the Avengers Academy, and Julian wasn't. My beef with this was how Liu handled it. She wrote the characters so off their game that it was like she was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. She failed to address the fact that: both characters had risked their lives for each other many times, that Laura cared about him so much as to have physical reactions (Logan's comments in X-force), and that the relationship spanned several years in comics. Writing it off as Laura 'feeling nothing' for him did not really work. She also forced Julian to act like captain asshat, which he's not. There were other much better in-character ways that the relationship could have been ended. So yes, that is my take on the break up. Hi! I'm 24, female and Canadian. I am studying at a US university now. I intend to pursue a career in the medical field, if I can keep my grades up. The inspiration for my user name is my pet bunnies. I only have one left...Molly. Nugget passed away in May.

I also have a fiance named Bryan, and a kitten, Oliver. They're both such handfuls. Bryan is an ornery critter and Oliver goes after danglies like it's his job.
