| Angel Of The TARDIS |
Author has written 12 stories for Doctor Who, St. Trinian's, Torchwood, and Single Father. Regular Stuff Name: Stacey ScreenName: Angel of the TARDIS on here, dt-forum.com and Paragon; MOTDS6690 on Teaspoon and LJ. Age: 22 Location: Dorset, England Gender: Female FanFic Preference: Doctor Who, in particular the Tenth Doctor. Beta: She goes by many names: Merlin07 on david-tennant.net and Paragon, and Catlady on Teaspoon. I'm really glad I met her... I now cannot write without her input. She is also the lady who puts the frighteners on Angel when she's messing me about. I luff her! She is the beta for all my work, apart from the first half of 'The Essence of Family', which is unbeta'd. Please assume that I bow down to her in thanks for every chapter. You should thank her too; I can't do this without her. Muse: Angel... the pain in my behind, the inspiration behind my writing, the voice in my head. No, really. I'm serious. If you see me insulting her, it's because she's not keeping up her end of the deal. She does the work, I take the credit. She does like to insert herself into fics of mine, so keep your eyes open. She also likes to attempt to kill me at least once a week; she'll give me great ideas in the most inopportune places (at the wheel of a car, in the middle of the road...), so if you see me talking to myself, I'm not. I'm talking to her. Well, arguing with her, usually. Yes, I'm mental. I think we've safely established that fact... ;-D Hope you enjoy my scribblings. If you want to know more about me, drop me a line! x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x Story List and Authors Notes - as spoiler free as I can make them. The Heavenly Messenger Series: Part 1: The Essence of Family: Set just prior to Torchwood: Children of Earth. I apologise to any science buffs out there; my muse came up with a lot of the explanations in the later chapters, and I'm pretty sure they don't make any sort of sense in the real world. But, after all, isn't that why this is called science-fiction? This fic was inspired (as are most of my stories), by a dream I had. Well, actually it was a daydream in this case, which turned into the end of chapter 12 and all of chapter 13. The rest of the fic was built around it. My first multi-chapter fanfic, started in May 2009, finished November 2009. Originally posted on david-tennant.net. Part 2: This Is My Life: A missing scene from 'The Essence of Family', set during Chapter 26. The beginning and end of this are direct quotes from that story, so it should be obvious where it fits in. This was originally posted as an (albeit VERY late) "Children In Need special" on both david-tennant.net and Teaspoon, on 26th November 2009. Part 3: The Spark Of Life: Set at some point between 'Journey's End' and 'Planet of the Dead' in the Whoniverse. But just to confuse you; from the Doctor's perspective, this is set AFTER 'The Essence of Family'. But, if you're any of the other characters (Jack, Gwen, Ianto etc etc etc), then it is BEFORE the events of 'The Essence of Family' have occurred. Wibbly-wobbly Timey-Wimey has never been more apt. Also, this story goes along with the established idea that, thanks to some careless driving on the Ninth Doctor's part in Series 1, the Whoniverse is set 1 year ahead of the real world. So this is taking place in early 2010. One thing: spot the plot hole. I'm trying to rectify it as I write more, but I foresee a *headdesk* moment. It may also include minor crossovers with my 'Heavenly Messenger' Series, but you will NOT need to have read that to enjoy this fic, the crossover will be that small. However, if you have read that series, you'll notice, and hopefully it will make you smile. Before you ask, I have absolutely no idea where the Shakespeare stuff came from. It started as a little, turned into a lot, turned into the whole thing. I remember having a vision (thanks to my Muse) of The Doctor and Rose, curled up in the TARDIS after an adventure, reading books to each other. The particular one they were reading in my vision was 'Much Ado About Nothing'. Separately, I had been reading loads of Post-JE stories on Teaspoon, and I had noticed a plot that hadn't been done (so far as I was aware). The two ideas came together, the title 'Much Ado...' seemed to fit, and I ended up with this. Then I shot myself in the foot, by somehow coming up with the idea to give each chapter a title - a Shakespeare quote. Thank Rassilon for Google is all I can say! Honesty didn't mean it to go that far... Originally posted on david-tennant.net and Teaspoon in December 2009. This is a Work In Progress, being written alternately with 'The Spark of Life'. Masquerade: A St Trinian's 2 fic, set the next school year after the film. POV's: My O/C, Bex, is represented by mainly standard font. Lord Pomfrey is represented by mainly italic font. I tried writing it all from Bex's POV, but it just wouldn't work... This is my 1st attempt at writing something that's a little bit smutty in places; I wouldn't have done this without the help and encouragement of my lovely beta. Mwah! I've had this idea in mind ever since I saw The Legend of Fritton's Gold at the cinema. 3 times. Twice in one day. And then the plot bunny returned with a vengeance when I bought the DVD. Since I wanted to practice writing fics other than Doctor Who based ones, I figured this was as good a place to start as any. The story has gone through a couple of phases and drafts in my mind before I decided on the final setup, but the main pieces have always remained the same. Originally posted on Paragon in May 2010. What Should Have Been, and What Is: Set Post- Journey's End. I had the image of Rose, asleep, dreams disturbing her rest. Dreaming of the life that should have been. It was also a plot bunny with sharp teeth, that wouldn't leave me alone while I was trying to write the first few chapters of 'The Essence of Family'. Originally posted on david-tennant.net on August 10th, 2009 "Mr Smith, I Will: Set Post Journey's End, Pre Children of Earth This came to me in a dream. And it was hilarious. I had been wondering, after the reveal in 'The End of Time' RE Martha and Mickey, whatever had happened to poor Tom Milligan? Obviously my subconscious wanted me to have an answer, so it gave me this. Unfortunately, I am USELESS at writing humour, so it is probably a lot funnier in my head than on paper. I was also trying to make this into a drabble, but failed miserably. Originally posted on david-tennant.net and Teaspoon on March 25th 2010. All That Ever Could Be: Set just Post-Journey's End; the TARDIS has just left Bad Wolf Bay. This came to me whilst I was washing up at work, but then, that's Angel for you! It was originally going to be AU, with Rose telling the Time Lord what she remembers, and then rubbing his face in it. I felt evil at the time... BUT, I also wanted it to be romantic, fluffy and beautiful, which version 1 was NOT going to fulfil. So I wrote this version instead! This was also originally planned to be a drabble. But, it is a universally acknowledged fact that, as soon as I am presented with a word limit, be it 100 words or 10,000 words, I will, without fail, write at least four times the said limit. As you can see, this one is nearer six times the limit, so I surpassed myself! I don't think I'll ever be able to write a drabble, so ficlets like this it will be! Day One Hundred: Set after the bulk of Torchwood: Children of Earth, but before Jack comes back to say goodbye. I was bad; I forgot to update my Profile when I posted this one shot. I came up with this while I was feeling slightly depressed one evening. I had an image pop into my head of Jack, drinking himself stupid at some tin shack of a tavern in some backwater country, trying to forget everything he has done to everyone he has loved. And, for the first time in a long time, the words actually came. Originally posted on david-tennant.net, Teaspoon, Paragon and ff.net on 22nd February 2011. Moonlight Serenade: Single Father fic, written for the Drabble Challenge, week beginning 1st August 2011, on dt-forum.proboards.com, or the New and Improved DT Forum. Prompt = 'Dancing in the Moonlight' (However, I set the prompt myself, so does it really count?) I came up with this the day after I had posted the prompt for the competition. I was so sure I'd never get it down as a drabble (see my prevoius comments), so it was just a half hearted attempt at first. Then it suddenly, out of no-where, came together! I begged permission to enter my own competition, and this is the result! Originally posted on the DT Forum, LiveJournal and ff.net on 3rd August 2011 All My Fault: Doctor Who fic with no specific setting. I wrote this thinking of Ten, but it could just as easily (if not more easily) be Nine saying/thinking this. I figured something out in the course of writing this. I can't seem to write unless I'm depressed. So, depending on the way to look at things, last night was a good night. *sighs* The bit about 'my head feels empty'? That was me. Originally posted, well, everywhere I post as listed above on 30th May 2012. Dancing to a Different Tune St. Trinians II fic, written for the One Shot challenge, week beginning 6th February 2012, on dt-forum.proboards.com. Prompt = 'Your Favourite Era of History' (Again, I set the prompt myself). I've always had a love of studying Tudor history, and I believe I'd just watched St. Trinians II again when I set this. I destinctly remember struggling with the latter half of the piece; it was originally going to just be about the dance between Sir and Lady being a thinly disguised power play, but I couldn't find a way to round it off. I remember being so frustrated, and then (figuratively speaking, at least) slapping myself about the head when my Muse decided she actually wanted to do some work and provided me with (IMO) a perfect out! She does that. It completely did not occur to me to post this work here until now. For that, I apologise. Originally posted on the DT Forum on 14th February 2012 | |||||
