Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.

If all you want to do is read my fanfiction, then the entire collection is here:

http://jeconais.fanficauthors.net

If you want to discuss the fics with me, then my adult Yahoo Group is at...

As it's been pointed out to me quite a few times, people under 18 can't join my group, but youc an receive email alerts from the fanficauthors.net site.

Well, if you’re reading this, then you are probably expecting This Means War part 10. As you can see, this is not it.

Over the past few years, I’ve watched as this website got more and more user unfriendly, and made strange decision after strange decision. I stopped my pay account in protest of some of them, in the hope that it would send a message to the admins.

Things like the URL remover, the character remover, and the new rating system annoyed me, but I hoped that was it.

Obviously it wasn’t, and today’s announcement is the final straw. The hypocrisy is now more than I can stand.

If you haven’t seen the front page, the admin’s of this website have said, “In addition, would like to address a growing problem. For whatever reason, some writers feel it's okay to copy-n-paste musical lyrics they have not written into their fiction. If you did not write it, do not post it. This has always been our policy. Please remove these entries immediately to avoid account closure.”

The very thought that a website based on fanfiction, would be worried about copyright issue with songs is completely ludicrous, especially when most of the time the usage of the songs themselves is covered under the fair use doctrine (and yes, I did have an informal chat with a lawyer).

Obviously, this policy affects me directly. Part six of This Means War has a lot of YMCA by the Village People. Chances has something from the Spice Girls. Other stories probably have mentions of songs.

So, I am abiding by this websites requests that I remove the story, after all, it is there website and their right to make whatever decisions they want, just as it is my decision to pull all my stories from here wiping out 3738 reviews in the process.

I would ask that, if you are an author, you ask yourself if this is the sort of website that you want to be associated with. Most of the major ships have other websites where you can post, and most of the time, where you can actually interact with your readers.

To me, it appears that this website has forgotten that it is here because the authors write the stories that cause so many people to congregate here to read them.

I just hope that the good authors on the site post elsewhere, and let people know, so that new fans of fanfiction don’t dismiss it all as derivative and repetitive drivel.

So, I’ll finish by saying a thank you to everyone who has reviewed over the years. I’m not abandoning fanfiction – not even close. I have a story almost as long as Goblet of Fire that I am getting ready to post, and just last night released the first part of a story called Hope. These stories would have eventually ended up here, but obviously, they won’t now.

In the immortal words of Douglas Adams:

So long, and thanks for all the fish
