Don't get me wrong, I loved the series. But that's the problem. I loved it. I don't love it anymore. I mean, it started off great. There was a plot, twists, romance, drama, well-developed characters and darkness. This awesomeness continued for three books. Then it fell apart. They started introducing too many characters. The romance between Erik and Zoey that had been developing for THREE BOOKS randomly disappeared. Zoey lost all of her personality. And the plot has been at a freaking standstill ever since. See 12 Reasons Why House of Night Sucks for more details. I think that maybe this book-destruction occured because Kristin Cast got ahold of the plot and the computer. Did you read her piece in Kisses from Hell (which I only picked up to read Richelle Mead's "Sunshine" :)? It made absolutely NO SENSE to me. I think she was trying freeverse with a plot, but it failed. And now HoN has turned into pretty much that with more words and more characters with actual names. *sigh*. Some of the HoN fanfics are ah-may-zing, though. Seriously. And someone that is a goddess when it comes to HoN fanfiction is EtincelleD'OR.
