'Prelude in C' explores the beginning of Clan Cullen: the transition of Carlisle from an isolated man to the head of a family. It starts in 1918 and will end in about 1930 or so. It involves the dynamics between Carlisle, Edward and Esme, as they learn to trust and depend upon one another. It is a canon prequel to Twilight.
