Random ramblings...

Today I was sitting waiting for my bus when a girl sat beside me. At the time my eyes were preoccupied because I was reading something for my biology class. From the corner of my eye, I noticed she pulled out a green binder - the type with the clear pocket in the front and in the pocket was a picture.

Now to be honest I thought I was being a bit delusional since I only had one glance at the picture before she started working and covered it with sheets so I could not get a good view of the front.

So you can just imagine me going "Flip to the front so I can know for sure that I am not going crazy"

Well she eventually did and low and behold, it was a amazing picture of Alfred and Arthur (whose style was strangely familiar but I don't remember the artist).

Now I bet you're wondering why I am making such a big deal out of this. Well for one, I know no one in my friends circle that likes Hetalia let alone anime. To sit beside someone who knows what the hell I preoccupy my time with and what makes light shine on my homework loaded day was a pretty good feeling.

I felt terrible though because as soon as I saw the picture, she had to leave for her bus. I was left with my very boring biology novel , hating the fact that I didn't say a damn word.

Sigh*

How did you get into Hetalia?

I wish I knew for sure. Honestly, I never realize I'm in a fandom until months later after I read fanfictions and come to know characters names and understand certain fandom jokes until it finally sinks in that I am "hooked". For Hetalia I guess it took 1 very long step and then it just took off from there to get to the point to say to myself that "I am hooked and I never want to leave".

I knew of the Hetalia in 2010. I watched the first episode of the world conference and that was it. That episode alone didn't peak my interest even though I did find it interesting. It just wasn't enough to hook me in yet. This was also the time when I slowly discovered the world of anime conventions and cosplay and etc through youtube. Even though I personally don't consider myself an Otaku and feel no need to go to convention, I understand that cosplay is an art form.

It wasn't until I believe late 2011 when I became more interested in Hetalia. Here lies the problem in the question of what exactly instigated my interest. I believe it was a series of things that made me solely focused on Hetalia.

I'm surprised I've been in this fandom for this long. Prior to Hetalia, I would be interested in something but my interest wains so easily and then I just don't care anymore. There was a time when I was into Naruto, Bleach, Kuroshitsuji, Code Geass, and Death Note. That interest only lasted a few months and then I needed something else to focus my interest on.

NOW its just solely Hetalia. Even if I get into something else I always fall back on Hetalia its ridiculous. After I watched "The Avengers", my interest was on it for two weeks then it just went back to Hetalia. And then another time I became interested in watching Let's Players - specifically Cry- and then I just became disinterested again and fell back into Hetalia again.

So next question...what is your OTP?

If you look at the majority of my favourites, you will realize that it consists of mostly Arthur and Alfred. So yes, they are my favourite. Why? I don't think I can explain...XD

You see...never have I solely loved a pairing as much as I do for these two. I shipped yaoi pairings before but never to an extent.
