(Profile ID changed to Kitt Chaos from Kitt Yuehana 09/30/2008) 03/25/2009 -- In response to an anonymous review I received on one of my stories -- At one point I had scene breaks clearly indicated in my stories, before fanfiction.net decided to not permit a short string of dashes within submissions. Also, whenever fanfiction.net changes what is and is not permitted as far as punctuation goes, it tends to go in and randomly 'eat' commas, periods and quotemarks from my stories. One of these days I might go in and try to fix the damage done by this process, but it seems rather pointless to do so until fanfiction.net settles on what is permitted once and for all. My apologies that this makes my stories more difficult to read. I dislike the way a horizontal ruler looks in stories, and that seems to be the only way fanfiction.net allows anything along the lines of a scene break aside from a rather lame sort of 'later that day' tag (which would work in a play, I suppose, but really ought not to be in a story). 12/02/2008 UPDATE -- The National Novel Writing Month challenge is behind me, and I won! For this year's challenge, I decided to work on Bloodstone Chronicles, the massive VHD/Castlevania story that's been kicking around in the back of my head for a few years now. Even though I've written over 50,000 words in this story, it is nowhere near ready to be posted. Anyone who's done the NaNoWriMo challenge knows what I mean, as it's all about getting the word count in only thirty days. Characters do weird things when you are under the gun like that, and the plot sort of took on a mind of its own. It's not a bad thing -- at all -- but the editing process is going to take a while. On the plus side, the story's DONE so there won't be a few chapters posted and then nothing for a long time. Another plus, it shows me where CastleDvania needs to go, so I can finish it. There will be some tweaking of that story (Caludra is formally introduced in Bloodstone Chronicles, so I need to adjust or eliminate the mention of her in CastleDvania, for example) but I want to use my momentum from NaNoWriMo to finish writing, and finish posting, CastleDvania. Just be aware that I'm going to have to change some of what's already been written in that story. Reading and writing are two of my favorite hobbies. I also play RPG video games and watch anime. (And a fair number of other activities, but they don't impact my writing as much.) Among my favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe, Christopher Stasheff, Hideyuki Kikuchi, Dick Francis, Isaac Asimov and Ambrose Bierce. Xenogears, Chrono Trigger and the mostly panned Saga Frontier are my favorite RPG video games, though I like most RPGs that Squaresoft has released. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is obviously a favorite video game of mine too! Among the anime titles I enjoy are Card Captor Sakura, Weiss Kreuz, Vampire Hunter D (and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust), Master of Mosquiton, Petshop of Horrors, Yu-Gi-Oh (and Yu-Gi-Oh Capsule Monsters), Nightwalker, D.N. Angel, Bakuretsu Hunters, Pretear, Fruits Basket, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and the first season of Fushigi Yuugi. Poetry is usually therapy for me, as it's a way for me to distill emotions I feel too deeply into a form a little easier to bear. I'm still working on all 'in progress' stories no matter how long they've been static. My job is a stressful and hectic one, that sometimes gets in the way of writing. The best way I've found for me to handle the dreaded 'writer's block' is to keep writing -- something else -- so I write wherever the current inspiration leads. That doesn't mean I've abandoned any story posted here, just that solid inspiration (solid enough to spark writing worthy of being posted) hasn't come back to it, yet. As usual, my head is spinning with stories. There's a crossover of two fandoms I've already written in planned, a trio of Fruits Baskets stories, two Petshop of Horror stories, a Final Fantasy VII story, two Howl's Moving Castle stories, half a dozen Pretear stories and probably a few others I'm forgetting at this moment. The empty space between "Once upon a time..." and "...they lived happily ever after." (even when those aren't the exact words used) is my favorite playground. Play with me?
