I solemnly swear that Fred never died and George wears blue boxers! I am a member of the Twin Exchange. About me: I'm a 21-year-old student, working towards my lit. degree. Although I am a Dutch citizen, I am raised bilingual and much prefer the English language. Books are my absolute passion and you can find me reading almost all the time. Proof of this is in my favourite stories list. The only explanation I can offer for reading 625 fanfics in two years time, is that I am an extremely fast reader and have the best job in the world.. =) I started out in the twilight fandom and have since moved on to other fandoms and have been absolutely hooked on Harry Potter since I discovered it. I cannot guarantee that all the fics in my favourites list are of the same quality, but I have enjoyed reading them all one way or another. I keep planning to organize them into communities but alas.. I'm a procrastinator till the end! Having said that, I would also like to mention that I am being held captive by a plot bunny that refuses to scamper. I have absolutely no idea when I will be ready to begin posting, as I am still sorting through all my idea's. An, in my opinion, awesome story is taking shape and I can't wait to begin writing it. It will be Hermione-twins centric, with a number of storylines running alongside it. I can only hope that I will do the characters justice, having never seriously written before. But hey, al that reading has to count for something right?! Now I know J.K. Rowling wrote all the books but I often wonder if she knew that she was writing a story that could be interpreted in many different ways. When examining the books more critically I discovered lots of faults, inconsistencies and often a lack of common sense. I mean, I know she writes about a different world co-existing along our own, but isn't it normal to offer help and counseling to children who have gone through or are going through a traumatic experience? And what's up with expecting children to do an adult's job but not treating them as adults? Although I respect J.K. for what she created, I am glad there is fan fiction. I don't think I'll ever forgive her for killing off Fred and Sirius by the way... ;) Favourite pairings: Hermione x Fred Hermione x George Hermione x Harry Harry x Ginny James x Lily Hermione x Charlie Pairings I don't particularly like but will read if well written: Hermione x Severus Harry x Luna Harry x Tonks Hermione x Draco Pairings I don't like but will read because you sometimes just can't seem to avoid them: Hermione x Ron I am not really picky about what kind of fanfic I read, it mostly depends on my mood. I'm pretty open-minded but I somehow just can't see a Voldy/Harry slashfic working.. "Hey Voldemort, I know you killed my parents in cold blood trying to kill me and all, but uh I think I like you..." I mean, seriously? Things I hate: - Inconsistencies - Stories on hiatus with no notice in the summary - Abandoned stories that are posted as 'completed' fics - Waiting on chapters When I first started reading I didn't know to search only for completed fics. After reading many fics that just stopped being updated without notice in an AN or the summary I had enough. Now I only read fics that are completed with completed sequels if there are any. A tip to all aspiring writers out there: don't just start writing, make timeline's and keep record of the important dates and happenings in your story, e.g. birthday's, names etc. It really isn't that difficult. If you've read all this and are still with me then I applaud you for making it this far. I know I am quite gifted at rambling. If you are searching for a captivating, well written fan fic, I would like to direct you to my favourite authors list. While I am not always picky on what stories make my favourite stories list, I do have high standards for my authors list. I have to truly have enjoyed reading the story and other stories by the same author before they make the list. Happy reading! Love, Cerriddwen PS. I'm always interested in new fanfics to read, even if they're not brilliantly written. Writers are learners too! So if you know a (completed!) HP fanfic that you think I'd like or if you've written one, send me a PM and I'll check it out. Both one-shots and long fics are welcome. | |||||||
