Bio?

I've been around the block, and am probably considered to be gray and wrinkly by the kids. I mean, I still remember the fanfiction.net having an 'original' section. I've been writing for a while, but fewer as time goes by, and have still to round a last story up back on Fictionpress. It's under the same pen-name and though not having the best literary merits, I still thought my storylines were pretty cool (narcissist me).

I'm pretty unsure about what to write here in the balance between internet security, and thinking people actually care about a random guy writing on some profit-less site. I guess I'll continue in the fashion of the Fictionpress beta-writing profile, with alterations:

Describe who you are as a writer / your writing style.
English is my second language and I lack literary practice after leaving high school - I did Engineering. I tend to write things long-winded (making up length to reach a report word limit) but I notice this and I cut back. I had been writing on Fictionpress for a few years, and had spent my share of days lurking around Fanfiction. I like drinking tea while I write, and my best chapters come about when it's in the small hours of the morning. Kinda suits my pen-name eh?

Expectations of anyone that wishes to acquire your services (read your story).
Someone open minded - but not empty minded. Not that my stories need to be deciphered, but reading between the lines for a joke or foreshadowing can only improve your reading experience. The worst thing to do on a site like this is to take things too seriously and leave a page rant on some silly issue about a story. People write and read here for a bit of fun, you're not an editor deciding whether things will get published. That's the way I like to keep things, simple and enjoyable. I always have the word 'entertainment' in my head when reading... You can tell I'm the type that doesn't read non-fiction unless I need to...

Honesty is not boasting. Name areas of writing you excel at.
I'm a manga buff (this naturally relates to some anime), and I'm familiar with western and eastern culture and how they relate (or misunderstands each other more often than not). I often slip some of those habits in, even though it's possible some western readers might not understand. I know fluent Chinese if that's something on this English site. Generally I go for the plot instead of minuscule detail of every setting: the intrigue of character interaction, the seed and fruit, and of course, the twists. If I'm a series/sitcom producer, it'll be very fun.

Perfection is the pursuit of perfection. Talk about your weaknesses as a writer.
When it comes to an important detail that I really want to express, even a simple thing will turn into a paragraph because of my stubbornness. I probably need a beta-reader to pick up on grammatical and styles issues, but I don't feel there is anyone that can work with me. I'm more of a loner when writing, and do what I want, how I want, when I want. That's Sagittarius for ya.

Are there some type of stories you would prefer to read/write over others?
Well, I like well-written stories that are not clichéd. One of the things about living long is how bored you get of the same thing, and really people (in general) never learns. Apart from that, I like my stories long - I feel I've invested my time for a good profit that way. Mostly it's just because length can give growth and change to your characters. As long as I've got enough knowledge of the thing the fanfic is based on, I can read it, but that's obvious I guess. Writing about a series is not easy, since it's a devotion thing and there must really be a motive for me.

Are there some type of stories you would not read?
Many. The most significant ones are homosexual romances, clichés, 'sad' stories, and low-grade immature stuffs.

Progress

No more weekly updates anymore I'm afraid. Earliest update is probably Christmas, but I kinda want to write the whole of the Festival event before publishing anything in case I need changes. The Draco stuff may seem to be bogging people down and dragging on, but it's really there to show the relationship between Draco and Neville, express the extent of the pureblood stone-weight, and misc. other stuffs that won't show up until much later in the future. Either way, I think it's safe to say 'See you in 2010'.
