Preferred Fandoms: Ranma 1/2, Harry Potter, Evangelion, Ranma/Sailor Moon crossovers. Others are intermittent at best.

Favorite pairings: Ranma/Shampoo, Ranma/NotAkane. Harry/NotGinny. Shinji/Rei, Shinji/NotAsuka. Slash is uninteresting at best and a horrible, godawful rape of a character at worst.

I don't like perfect protagonists. Fixing characters to be the perfect hero or whatever is fucking boring. Pride is good. Competence is sexy. This is why I like Ranma. He's an arrogant bastard, and almost good enough to completely back it up. Also why I'm a fan of Mister Cynical's Eva fiction. Competence, people, is sexy. I don't like it when problems are solved with longwinded, righteous, legal discussion and planning. I like it when problems are broken, shattered, and ground underfoot. Problems solved with the word, not the sword, is reality. It's also boring as all fuck. Yeah, I don't know why I like Evangelion either. Maturity in fiction typically leads to drama, and there is no greater offense than drama. So I roll violence as the answer.

Ranma fiction ungoods: fixing the Neko-ken. Fuck y'all who think it's a horrible, glaring weakness that needs to be purged. It happens to be a horrible, glaring weakness that happens to turn Ranma into an unbeatable fighter.
Curing Ranma's curse. Maybe I don't roll Ranma going girly, but the curses are interesting.
Ranma going down like he's Rock Lee. Ranma fucking Saotome don't lose. Especially if it's Ryoga doing the putting-down. Fuck that noise.
Ranma being a complete idiot. Ranma is uneducated. Ranma is ill prepared to deal with people in ways that don't involve fighting. Ranma is arrogant. Ranma is not an idiot.
Ranma/Akane. I do not like this pairing. It can be pulled off, but I don't expect it to be. I do not write it. Power is one of my favorite fics for more or less explaining this for me. Hell, it explains why I like Ranma/Shampoo pretty damn well too.
Man-hating Amazons. This is one of the stupidest ideas ever. If the Amazons really hated men, and kept them ground underfoot as little more than slaves and baby factories, Mousse wouldn't have been allowed to learn the Hidden Weapons technique.
Evil Magic Enslavement Witch Amazons. Shampoo uses magical methods of attracting Ranma's affection all of twice in the manga.
Shampoo/Mousse. If you're going to say this pairing is justified, you also have to say Akane/Tatewaki is justified.
People randomly acquiring super skills and kicking Ranma's ass in a month. Ranma spent ten years undergoing intense training to be the best fucking martial artist in the world. Ranma has done really, really stupid, risky shit in the name of becoming stronger, and done it willingly. Ranma is obsessed (obsessed is how the lazy refer to the dedicated) with Martial Arts. Martial Arts is his life. Maybe Shampoo and Mousse can say the same. Ryoga cannot. Akane cannot. Ukyou cannot. Akane is the product of a reasonably normal life. Ukyou is primarily a chef. Ryoga spends a lot of time lost. They are not as good as Ranma.
Ranma angsting about Saffron. No. Ranma is a martial artist. Martial artists die. Sometimes in excruciatingly painful ways. Sometimes because of accidents. Ranma knows this. Ranma knows he is perfectly capable of killing someone. Being sad he did it and pay his respects to the dead? Fine. Crying and bitching and moaning and swearing never to kill anyone ever again? No. Martial arts are for hurting people. Martial Artist's Honor code is generally nonsense, but it recognizes that the Art is for hurting people. Ranma is good at it.

Potter fiction ungoods: pussy Harry. Competence, goddamnit. It's reasonable to assume Harry's father was an Animagus by the time he was fifteen. Snape was a master of dark magic. Voldemort was taking strides toward immortality. Dumbledore was a badass in a lot of ways that would be DH spoilers. Harry? Canon Harry is a pussy. And he's madly and randomly in love with Ginny. So I go with AU Potterfiction.
Someone-not-Harry being the protagonist. Fuck y'all, it's Harry Potter and the... not anyone else. Harry Potter is the protagonist. The end.
Magic being inferior to technology. Magic is badass. It is used in all aspects of a Pureblood's life. They have been doing more with it, longer than we have with technology. I don't oppose some sort of equity, but Magic is awesome. End of story.
Harry/Ginny. I do not like this pairing. It can be pulled off well, but probably isn't. Ginny comes out of nowhere in canon and is perfect. I hate her character with a violent, burning passion.
Redeeming Snape. No, goddamnit. Snape is a prick. You don't need to be good to fight evil, though only good can kill evil (Only a man can kill a monster).
