Hey all it's the internet's ORIGINAL RivErStaR.
I hail from the land down under... Australia... and life's a party :) Some of the things which interest me (apart from spending countles hours in front of the telly lol) include: dancing, music, reading, arachaeology, anthropology, anything to do with ancient history, mythology (Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Oriental), animal (especially white tigers, horses and snow leopards), collecting quotes, writing and anything remotely related to criminology and crime solving.
I mentioned above that I love reading and well, it's true. I've read the entire Oxford English Dictionary and I read the first 5 volumes of the Encyclopaedia Britannica from beginning to end when I was 13. My fave genre is fantasy and well, as everyone can see from my pen name my fave fantasy author is Sara Douglass. I love any historical fantasy (such as stuff done by Douglas and Wilbur Smith) and I'm a also huge fan of Michael Ende. In fact it was Ende's work that first got me interested in the fantasy genre and his book, The Neverending Story, will always hold a special place in my heart.
Amongst those there are also my inspirers: Shakepeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Homer, Charles Dickens, Anna Sewell, Lewis Carroll, Sir Thomas Mallory, Alfred Lord Tennyson, and Franz Kafka. I'm sure there are others, I just can't remember them all! :D
Oh. And like most people, I have a love of Harry Potter too!
My television interests inclue: Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Stargate SG-1, NCIS, Without a Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Cold Case.
My online fandoms include: Amorous Intent -- for Bobby/Alex shippers (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amorous_intent/), Stargate (I'm a Sam/Jack shipper), Farscape (John/Aeryn forever baby!), and to a lesser extent NCIS (I belong to the minority who ship Gibbs/Abby). But as you can see from my favourite authors and favourite stories lists, I tend to hang around the LOCI fandom the most. It's where I'm at my loudest! lol
Shows I did watched but they got cancelled: Farscape, The Pretender, The X-Files, Mysterious Ways, Relic Hunter, FX: The Series, The Invisible Man, Sliders, Early Edition, Futurama, and Profiler.
I also have a whacky obsession with 80s cartoons because I know that nothing beats the originals: Danger Mouse, The Smurfs, Knight Rider, Dungeons and Dragons, Fraggle Rock, Transformers, and MacGyver, which is where my Richard Dean Anderson obsession first started! ;)
