Author has written 43 stories for Invader Zim, Teen Titans, Transformers/Beast Wars, Death Note, Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Harry Potter, Pokémon, District 9, and Good Omens. I don't wanna wait till tomorrow... Yesterday's gone The stuff about me Name: ckret2, obviously. Pronounced "secret-two," but some say "cricket-two" which is fine with me. Be creative. Feel free to PM me! Or IM me! Or email me! Or whatever me! I like hearing from people. I'm not weirded by strangers going "um, hey, so I read your fics..." Really, I'm not. It makes my day. The stuff I write Fun fact: I write original fiction too! Whee! And maybe someday I'll actually finish a novel. See, the easy part is starting them. And getting a good 60k words in. But you're here for the fics, so never mind that. (But when I finally get something finished and published, I am gonna pimp the living daylights out of it. Right here. Oh yes. This space reserved for future novel ads. ...I'll use my royalties to buy a flying pig.) What you see down there is what I write for, although I'm actually into many more fandoms than that would indicate. I'm disproportionately fond of villains, of crack pairings, and of taking ideas that sound very very bad and trying to prove they can be done well. I write gen, slash, and het. (I'd write femslash too if I ever found a pairing that I got a plotbunny for, but it just hasn't happened yet. Doesn't mean I wouldn't do it, though.) I do write about sex, but I don't write the sex itself. That means I don't write smut. I'm not squicked by it, but I don't write it. I also dislike the "seme/uke" dynamic, and so leave it out when I write slash. If you ask me which character in a certain fic is seme or uke, I will probably give you a long explanation on why neither is. Except in fics that specifically set out as a "What if..." alternate timeline scenario, I try to stay canon-compatible in my writing. I always try to keep everyone in character (or reasonably close to). I prefer my fics plot-driven, rather than crack-driven, angst-driven, fluff-driven, etc. That doesn't mean I don't write crack, angst, fluff, etc., because I do write plenty of all of the above; it just means I make sure it makes sense. The stuff you can request I write fics on demand! Just about anything you want. As of last count, 11 of my currently-posted fics were requests, I've got several others written that I simply haven't posted yet, and I have several more in progress. I'm pretty open-minded on requests—I'll gladly write stuff to prompts for characters/pairings/situations that I might not personally be a big fan of—so I'm sure we can come up with something. I love doing requests, so feel free to ask. I'm in (or at least knowledgeable about) way more fandoms than I've got fics up for. Seriously. At one point I tried to list all my fandoms here, and it was very long and woefully incomplete, so I gave up. I've got interests that vary all the way from The Grapes of Wrath to The Penguins of Madagascar, I'm sure we can find something in common in the middle. Try me; I might know it. These are the fic requests I'm currently working on, in the order I got them: The stuff that's already posted down there (or going to be soon) — Completed Fics If it says "Complete" then that's it, even if the story technically isn't "finished." At that point, it's either finished or it's been killed dead. Except for a handful of long fics (most of which are in various states of hiatus), the rest of my fics are complete. And if a fic says "oneshot," that also means it's complete. My current major work is Man of Dreams, which is now, officially, completed. Huzzah and hurray. — In-Progress Fics Don't lie, you're here checking for In Short Supply's status. IT IS STILL ALIVE! It's just on a long hiatus. I always seem to be busy with other things. But it's still alive: I still love it, I still like what I've done with it so far, I still know where I'm going with it, it's alive. As for my other long fics—Tears, Most Prized Possession, Thicker Than Water, Under the Snake's Skin, and Two Shall Stand—they're also on hiatus. But it's not "taking a nap" hiatus, it's "in a coma, hooked up to a heart monitor" hiatus. I may come back to them someday, but at this point I have no plans to, and if I do, it will probably require major overhauls of what I've already written. None of them are very far along (as opposed to, say, In Short Supply), so going back to them wouldn't be "picking up where I left off" so much as "starting over again nearly from square one." But I may go back to them. — Upcoming Fics —— Untitled HashiMada Work-In-Progress: "This Impure World" I wrote Man of Dreams because I was wondering, "Is there any way I can get Hashirama/Madara to work?" and my muse said, "Yes, but I can only make it one-sided." I'm writing this new fic because I was wondering, "Okay, is there any way I can get Hashirama/Madara to be mutual?" and my muse said, "Well, I'll see what I can do." Besides, after Man of Dreams, I owe the universe some requited romance. So far, the fic's working title is "This Impure World," but that's subject to change. I'm going between "the San-Kaku fic," "the love vs. power fic," "something something 'great and splendid land' and 'impure world,'" and "the HashiMada fic with actually requited romance." (The computer file itself is "HashiMada.rtf," which is what Man of Dreams was called before it got a title.) No estimates on when posting will start, since I don't plan on posting until it's completely written, start to finish. My best (and optimistic) estimate is late summer, around August. —— other stuff I've (ALWAYS) got several other fics in the works, and I'll also randomly post oneshots. There's no way to tell when they'll come, what they'll be about, or even what fandom they'll be in. (If you really want to know, you could put me on Author Alert. Hint, hint.) The above list of current requests will certainly show some of the stuff I'm working on, but not all of it. Since right now, requests only account for about a quarter of my work. The stuff about reviews! I appreciate all reviews. Praise makes me squee, constructive criticism makes me a better writer, and flames make me laugh. Send me any combination of the above and I'll be happy. Although praise mixed with flames will confuse me. (It's happened. It was baffling.)
