To my "DayBreak" and "Harry Potter and the Draconian Table" readers, I am so sorry, but I've had to delete them. I realized today that my heart simply wasn't in either of these stories. They both had great premises, and have the goods to be something great, but I've come to the point in my life where I really want to make the mark on something that's my own, and not somebody else's.
I'm not getting any younger, and driving home from work today, I just realized that by starting another fanfiction, I'm putting off trying to write my own original fiction. That fear is in control of my life, not me. I'm letting it guide my decisions, like choosing to write something easier, with less risk of failure, rather than to take a chance and fail spectacularly. I'm so scared, and maybe this will be the hardest lessons in my life, but I think I've reached a point where I can't make excuses anymore. I'm ready, and I know I am. Playtime (writing fanfiction) is over, and it must be down to business from now on.
As corny as it sounds, however, it's true. I just couldn't have done it without everyone who's ever reviewed me. Good, and bad. The bad have helped provide me with a thicker skin, and the good have helped support me, and encouraged me on to become a better writer.
Stage 1 complete. Now, onto Stage 2. Hopefully, the next time you'll hear from me, it's because I have something worth saying of my very own.
