Author has written 18 stories for Harry Potter, Jedi Apprentice, Song of the Lioness, Circle Opens, Lord of the Rings, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Book X-overs, Numb3rs, and Stargate: SG-1. Hi everyone! Life and my muse haven’t been cooperating with the idea of actually finishing any of my stories lately. I still have plenty of new ideas coming in but my muse isn’t interested in finishing most of my stories yet. Some stories I’m just facing writers block on. Some I haven’t been able to conjure up enough interest (in the limited time I’ve had to work on them, between work and school). And others... I should probably take down for total revision, as the ones that I wrote while in early high school are kind of painful (for me, at least) to read. If you’re interested in specifics, you’re welcome to join my mailing list on Yahoo! called Jess_Storm. All of my stories will be posted in the files section there and I will be keeping everyone up to date on how my writing is coming along with Progress Reports every other month or so. The catch is that in order to maintain your membership, you have to participate in some way. Answer my questions or other readers questions. Ask your own questions. Debate. Or you could vote in polls. Or add to the links. Add pictures—related to my stories or the canons I’ve written in. Add links to archives and fan fics. Recommend fics. I really don’t care what you do, just as long as when I go through the members list every now and then I’m not wondering who everyone is. If I can find SOMETHING you’ve done, I’ll leave you alone. The more you participate, the easier it’ll be for me to remember who you are. But as long as you do something every now and again, I’ll leave your membership alone. Plus, you will get a warning if you’re at risk of losing your membership because I don’t have the slightest idea of who you are. The only other catch is that you have to follow all the other rules. Like no spamming, and hurtful remarks towards other members are frowned upon, etc. All of which are posted on the group. Everything will be posted on Storm up to a week before it’s posted on FF.Net. The only exception being the stories I post on Twisting the Hellmouth.Com, which I’ve seen fairly good returns for without needing the additional incentive. Only a few of my stories are posted there though. And my stance on that may change. If you’re interested in joining Storm, it’s the link saved at my home page and the URL is (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jess_storm/ I also have a beta group for people that really want to help me get going on specific stories. That one is supposed to be much more involved. It’s just for people who are interested in helping me by beta-reading, editing, revising and critiquing my work, both old and new. In return, you will have my sincere thanks, recognition in the story/stories you help me with, and access to new material LONG before everyone else. You will almost certainly be made aware of whatever future plotlines, etc., I’ve already prepared. I’m really only interested in having one person help me with each story, but if you want to help with more than one and no one else wants to with the stories you’re suggesting I will consider it. For point of reference, the following fics are covered by betas at the moment: A Call Away is covered by ‘NeverTooOld.’ Although I would appreciate help from anyone who is well-versed in mathematics and/or law. The biggest problem I have so far is that I need someone who can actually help me understand some of the math concepts Charlie might use enough to write about it further down in the series because I don’t want to copy everything from the canon. A Fine Line is covered by ‘Fireflash.’ Elda Kundu, Kurutar is covered, but more help would be welcome. I would also like to hear from ‘Silverwolfqueen’, ‘bookgal01’, ‘Namonaki Pharaoh’ and ‘Ishe-Leigh’ sometime soon if they intend to continue helping me. So, if you're interested, please let me know via FF.Net's messaging system, leave an email and I'll get back to you ASAP. If I think you understand what I’m asking and that I’ll be able to work with you, I’ll invite you to the group. I have other groups, but will be closing most of them some time soon, so if you're part of another group, it would be a good idea to switch soon. I will send out warnings before I close each list, but consider yourselves fore-warned here... I also just sent out a warning to the members of my “There and Back Again” mailing list, saying that I would be closing it. There’s been no activity on the group since I started posting the rewrite of T&BA, so I don’t feel at all obliged to keep the group going. Also, if anyone would like to adopt any of these stories, or start one of their own going along similar storylines, feel free. Just tell me beforehand and give me credit for the idea. (If you don’t, you may be hounded by people that do notice the similarities... and really, if you post it on FF.Net, it’s VERY, VERY likely that I’ll see it anyway.)
