Hi everyone!
I've been having some trouble with various stories (which is why they haven't been updated lately), but I'm going to try to get new chapters out in the hopefully near future. Sorry for the wait. For those who are interested, this is where my fan fics currently stand:
A Dance Mage? -- A Tamora Pierce - Circle Opens: Magic Steps AU -- ON HOLD at 2 Chapters until I either find something to make me want to write about or until someone gives me an idea that makes me want to write more.
A Fine Line -- A Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Stargate: SG-1 Crossover wherein the POTUS essentially sells the Stargate to the Schoobies after Senator Kinsey almost causes an apocalypse by shutting the program down. (BtVS: post S7, SG-1: AU, S1& 2-ish) -- WIP
Chosen Destiny -- A Sailor Moon/Lord of the Rings Crossover. ON HOLD
Consanguina -- A Harry Potter AU (Harry has a big sister). WIP (very slow progress, suggestions would be appreciated)!
Fate & Destiny -- A Lord of the Rings/Tamora Pierce: Tortall Crossover, wherein Daine is an elf from Middle Earth (Lothlórien). ON HOLD
Harry Potter & the Chrestomanci -- A Harry Potter/Chrestomanci Crossover -- Harry's an Enchanter and becomes the Chrestomanci's Heir. ON HOLD, suggestions would be appreciated.
Lady Serenity -- A Harry Potter/Sailor Moon Crossover. Princess Serenity of the White Moon Kingdom wasn't reincarnated as Usagi, by the time the other Senshi are reincarnated she's over a millennia old and Harry Potter is her descendant/godson. (Still) ON HOLD FOR REVISION UNITL FURTHER NOTICE!
Mage -- Prequel to Lady Serenity, where the Crystal Court is raising Lily… WIP
Midae -- Harry Potter/X-Men Crossover. Rouge is a witch. ON HOLD
Moralm -- Star Wars/Tamora Pierce: Tortall Crossover. Daine is the Senator of Naboo, and will be guiding Kalasin of Conté in guiding her world into the Galactic Republic. WIP (very, very slow progress - suggestions would be welcome).
Queen of the Amazons -- A Tamora Pierce: Tortall, Alanna AU fic... - WIP. RECENT CHAPTER (7.6) POSTED ON MAILING LIST, BUT STILL IN NEED OF REVISION. 7/30/2007
Regina Flamma -- A Tamora Pierce: Tortall, (Lady) Alanna AU fic... - ON HOLD
There and Back Again -- A Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings Crossover. Harry is transported to Middle Earth and adopted by the Eldar before returning home and then being sent back there again! DISCONTINUED. I have now begun starting to post the rewritten version, Elda Kundu, Kurutar. (7/17/08)
True Chosen -- A Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice AU -- UNDER REVISION.
Well, those are all of the stories I have posted so far! Hope you like them, and any help you wish to offer on any of them would be appreciated.
I'm still welcoming members to my mailing list on Yahoo! called Jess_Storm, where I will be posting all of my stories and expecting feedback, debates, etc. there. The only difference is I will be occassionaly going through the group and revoking the membership of readers that don't participate. That's not what Storm's for. Everything will be posted on Storm at least a week before it will be posted on FF.Net, and in return members of Storm give me feedback. If they don't, they can wait for it on FF.Net. I also have a beta group, for people that want to help me get going on specific stories. That one is much more involved. It's just for people who are interested in helping me by beta-reading, editing, revising and critiquing my work, both old and new. In return, you will have my sincere thanks, recognition in the story/stories you help me with, access to new chapters long before everyone else, and you will almost certainly be made aware of whatever future plotlines, etc., I’ve already prepared. I’m really only interested in having one person help me with each story, but if you want to help with more than one and no one else wants to with the stories you’re suggesting I will consider it. For point of reference, the following stories are what I’m currently looking for help on:
A Fine Line – Honestly, I’m stuck one a specific part of the next chapter, and have been for months. While I would appreciate someone editing what I’ve already put up and helping me brainstorm for future chapters, it’s that scene I’ll want help with initially. What’s the scene about? You’ll find out if you want the job.
Consanguina – Mostly brainstorming and critiquing at this point. Though unless you have some really interesting ideas on where the story should go, I might hold off on updating until I’ve read the 7th HP book, as some of the events in the 6th have caused a few problems with what I had planned and I want to see where those canon events are going...
Lady Serenity – Currently under revision, so you’d be helping with that. Beta-reading, editing, brainstorming, etc. I really would like to update this this summer too, so help really would be appreciated.
Queen of the Amazons – The only story I’m not (at present) thinking of revising! Chapter 6 should be ready soon, but it would probably be faster if someone was willing to seriously beta/edit/critique the story as a whole. Please keep in mind that by doing so you are volunteering to help me edit the entire story, including the chapters that are already posted, the next chapter and the ones that I haven't even started yet...
There and Back Again – I really want to revise the entire thing, and have actually already made my way through the first few chapters. I might be willing to update if someone was willing to beta-read/edit new chapters while also helping me revise previous chapters and critiquing the whole process to help me keep new chapters in line with both the old ones and the revised ones...
All of my other stories (A Dance Mage, Chosen Destiny, Fate & Destiny, Harry Potter & the Chrestomanci, Midae, Moralm, Regina Flamma, and True Chosen) are currently on hold with a major case of writers block, so if you want this one you’d have to be really willing to help me brainstorm and establish where this story is going beyond the general outline I already have. The fic Mage is really under the same conditions, but if someone wants to work with me on both Lady Serenity and Mage, it’d probably help.
Now, I realize this all may sound rather daunting, believe me. It’s what I’ve been looking at for months in between college classes at my old school, finding and applying to another college and two different jobs. But now that I have basically two whole months off from school, I really would like to finish some of my stories, or at least get close to doing so. I used to update Lady Serenity more often because my best friend was helping me, and having someone to bounce ideas off of and just critique can really, really help. So, if you're interested, please let me know via FF.Net's messaging system, leave an email and I'll get back to you ASAP. If I think you understand what I’m asking and that I’ll be able to work with you, I’ll invite you to the group. Thank you.
I have other groups, but will be closing most of them some time soon, so if you're part of another group, it would be a good idea to switch soon. I will send out warnings before I close each list, but consider yourselves fore-warned here.
I haven't decided if I'll be closing the group for "There and Back Again" (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TandBA) or not. I might, but probably not in the near future, as it has a lot more members than the other groups.
And, lastly, I'm also getting my wisdom teeth pulled at the end of this week and am taking several days off afterwards to recover. Whether that will mean I'll have plenty of time to write/etc. or I'll be in too much pain to, I don't know, but I thought I'd let you know...
