Well, how shall I introduce myself? My name is Samantha McPhoenix, or at least that's the name I'm willing to give you. =3 Though my penname is Pichu Star, you may also know me better as minty-fivestar, from a variety of other websites I happen to be affiliated with.
I'm a 20-year old female college student who stays woefully busy with classes even during the summer, and enjoys being creative and/or productive at all times. Though I update infrequently, my story ideas are nigh well immortal--they'll never die, so don't even worry about it. Really. =)
My favorite fandom is Pokémon and has been since I was 10. I was living in Japan at the time Pokémon was released to the United States; thus, I have a unique appreciation for the series and for the Japanese culture in general. I am currently working on a minor in Japanese (perhaps a second major if that becomes avaliable at my university) and am trying really hard to be able to read, write, and speak the language. I can't say I'm as good at it as I should be. >>;
When I'm not slaving at schoolwork or wasting my hours on video games, my favorite hobbies include art, writing various bits of prose, RPing, and doing research into animal classification/Pokémon battle strategies/vampire mythology (whichever one trips my fancy at the moment).
My writing style isn't perfect by any means, but expect great attention to spelling and grammar detail, frequent detours into following the characters' various trains of thought, and generous amounts of the artistic use of run-ons and/or fragments. Genres I tend to excel at are extensive dialogue scenes, emotional imagery, and the tasteful-yet-terrifying horror or dark scene. In other words: I'll paint you an image in blood without detailing where all the organs went. =P
Oh, and on my writing--I use all American translated names by default in my stories. Just so you know~
I'm not the most social person in the world, even on the internet, but I'm certainly open to meeting new people. I like to consider myself nice, after all. =) And I'm one of the few people you'll find that actually spells out all her words when she types. (Gasp!) Say hello sometime--I don't bite. Some of my characters might, but I won't. Hehehe...

My Pokemon fanfics are my pride and joy. You can see how I've improved over the years since I first started writing fanfics, and I put my heart into every single one of these fics. Every character has a backstory in my mind, and everything they do or say has a purpose or meaning behind it, even if only to show how kind, obnoxious, silly, etc. they are. If you can even appreciate the fact that a game series can affect one girl so profoundly and bring her such joy, then you'll enjoy my fanfics.

My Mist of Evil series has officially died. It was the starting point of my fanfic career, but as my ideas and writing style have matured, I've drifted farther and farther away from it. But fortunately, I'm salvaging all my ideas from it to incorporate into my current Zelda fanfic project. It looks extremely promising and is an AU-ish fanfic detailing the dark events after The Minish Cap. I won't spoil too much, but it's fairly psychological in nature and looks to be a pretty dark fic. I plan to start putting it up once I get it finished. After which I will probably take some of these down. ._.

C2 Info (Treasures of Orre: The Pokémon Colosseum C2):
This C2 is a place for all the fanfiction out there having to do with Pokémon Colosseum or Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. The only criteria required, aside from having to do with those two games, is that the story be decently written. If the storyline is poor (makes absolutely no sense, the characters are painfully OOC, etc.) or the spelling and grammar so atrocious that it's too painful to even read, it will not be included in the archive. But otherwise, it's pretty free reign. Romantic one-shots, creative sequels, yaoi, humor... it's all here! Hopefully that gives you a fairly good selection to choose from!
If you know of some more well-written fics out there that are not in the archive and should be, then please let me know! I can't find them all myself!

News (7/10/08):
Another school year ends, another busy summer begins. What else is new, huh?
It's finally occurred to me that waiting around for inspiration to strike isn't enough to get me to update my fanfiction. I've gotten many good strokes of inspiration, but they still weren't enough to motivate me to sit down and write. Some of that is due to life itself; personal problems, schoolwork, and the like pretty much always makes me want to just sleep or play a video game instead of write. However, it is also partially my fault as well. There were plenty of opportunities for me to try get in some writing here and there and I chose to spend that time on something else. I suppose that is my prerogative, to spend my life as I please... But at the same time, it isn't really fair to all you loyal readers, and I am deeply sorry.
But as things stand, it's hard for me to get back into the groove of writing. To illustrate just how hard: the last time I wrote a piece of complete or substantial fiction was my college freshman spring semester, for a class. I completed my sophomore year of college in May. >>; As such, it is difficult not only to remember where I left off, but to try and get into the same frame of mind I was in 2-3 years ago for my fanfiction.
In order to insure I don't lose my writing ability altogether, I'm working on a new story, as described below. Don't think that this means I'm abandoning my other stories, or devoting myself to another long and crazy story idea. I already know what to do with this one, and now it is just an exercise in writing. I think the experience will allow me to finish up the next updates for my other two Pokémon fanfics, and give all you loyal readers what you deserve.
