Greetings! I'm a businesswoman by day, an aspiring writer by night. I live in the Midwest and travel frequently. The kids are grown and keep boomeranging back home, so at any given time I may or may not have one of them poking around at my computer trying to see what I'm up to. I've been publishing fanfic since November, 2010. You'll find all of my Harry/Severus mentor and friendship fic here, though I also write Harry/Severus slash and other pairings, and participate in Harry Potter fandom fests on Insane Journal and Live Journal. My fiction runs from PG to M/NC-17 (though not on this site), so please read the ratings and any author notes before reading. Feel free to drop me a PM if you feel so inclined. A new year, new resolutions, and more writing. Flotsam and Jetsam is at chapter 9 and will go through the summer. We're in July now, and you can expect to see Harry with Teddy again, with Ron and Hermione, Ginny, Neville, more Weasleys and of course Luna will make an appearance too.

While toying with the eighth year idea, I realized I need original plot. :-) Can't just "remake" canon anymore. So I continue to toy with the idea as I drive my long commutes and will decide after I finish a couple other projects I'm working on.

A reviewer wondered today why I changed Severus' middle name from Tobias. I'm relatively sure that Tobias is not canon. It's used all the time in fandom, and it's possible that JKR said in some interview somewhere that that's his middle name, but it does not occur in the books! The assumption, it seems, is that he'd have his father's name as his middle name. When you read a lot of fanfic, it's so easy to confuse canon with fanon. Spells, for example, are often invented in fanon and are not canon.

Real life...why can't I just write all the time? However, there is a business to run and sales to make or I might be writing all the time and eating Ramen noodles again. "A Summer of Flotsam and Jetsam" has just made it to the end of July, and will end with the September 1st start of Harry's "8th" year at Hogwarts. I'm still contemplating "doing" 8th year, and am trying to come up with an original plot. I tallied up the word county in this series so far, and it's somewhere around 450,000 words. I'm not sure I have many more original thoughts!

Finished "A Summer of Flotsam and Jetsam" and published it. Will now start thinking more seriously about an 8th year story to follow it. I could use a short break, and will use my drive time next week (18 hours to a client site and back again) to dream up a decent plot. In the meantime, I have a 20-year old living with me, my son's ex-girlfriend, I'm in the middle of moving my office and it's way too hot for May 1st!

Look for "Tuesdays with Severus" (possibly morphing into "Wednesdays with Severus" or something of the sort), a sequel to the MOI/RH/OMI/ASOFAJ series, in the next few weeks. The story will be my take on Harry's "8th" year at Hogwarts, following the previous events in the series, and will center around two unknown sources trying to influence Harry, one trying to discredit Severus and the other trying to redeem him. In short, Harry will learn more about Severus' past than Severus would have liked him to discover, and will learn to deal with the whole man, past and present, as he grows himself and gets ready to leave Hogwarts behind.

I've been asked to provide my update schedule for "Tuesdays with Severus." At this point, I am trying for every other week, on the weekend. My time is a lot more in demand than it was when I began the series, but I try to stay home and write on Friday nights. Thanks for asking.

Hello Dorlinda Chong! I have deleted your kind reviews and will continue to do so until you allow me to reply to them! Since you do not log in, and therefore are leaving reviews anonymously, you are having a very one-sided conversation with me. Other readers/reviewers who point out inconsistencies in my writing, typos and errors are kind enough to allow me to respond to them. In most cases, I fix the inconsistencies, and I always fix the errors (such as misspellings of JKR-invented words). Might I point out to you, kind madam or sir, that I am NOT a professional writer? I do not get paid for my efforts. I own my own business, supervise employees, work more than full time, and write for "fun" in the evenings and on weekends. I have grown children, a household to manage, and activities outside of fandom for fulfillment. And for your information, yours are the ONLY reviews I have EVER deleted. Yes, really. You have made your point--I am inconsistent, have no attention to detail and cannot be "arsed" to care. So please--PLEASE--go read something else. Last time I checked, there were a half million or so Harry Potter stories on this site. Surely you can find a few that meet your very high standards...maybe even a few who consistently spell Wizengamot correctly. Or is that Wizengamut? See? I can't be arsed to go look it up. You really are spoiling the game for other readers who are lucky to find a writer who at least can spell "summary" correctly and don't start their summaries by saying "I suck at summeries." I really don't understand what readers like you GET from flaming. Remember--you are not paying for the privilege of reading fanfic. There are thousands of choices. If you find something that offends you, go read something else. Oh--and WHY do you keep reading my stories? Abandon them--please! OK, I've gotten that off my chest...back to writing chapter 5 of "Tuesdays with Severus." It may take me a few months to publish it as I need to reread the Harry Potter series first and bone up on my spelling...

First, reassurances to all reading Tuesdays that there will be no major character death in this story...so Hermione is safe and will definitely need to start spending a little more time at Hogwarts. Next, my apologies for the length of time between chapters of Tuesdays. I'm on the road a lot for my job and since June have had one or the other of my 20-something sons living at home. There's more going on in my life and in my head than usual but I grab time to write when I can.

I'm contemplating doing a 'young' (pre-Hogwarts) Harry/Severus story and if I can pull an original idea out of the hat on how to present it, I'll start it after Tuesdays (or maybe even earlier).
