Hi everyone, I'm Irene. I'm 20.

I study Modern Languages and Literature at the University of Bologna, that's why I write in English and that's also why you don't have to expect flawless stories. I also know some German and French, though my writing skills in those language kind of suck ;) I'm also learning Spanish but I can hardly write a presentation at this point.

I played basketball for about 8 years, but I had to quit because it was getting like a full-time job and with school and everything it was all to much, then I moved. I miss it dearly, though. I love photography as well, but I can only snap some shots while I'm not madly busy. It's months that my camera is just catching dust, poor thing...

Big, huge Grey's Anatomy fan, even if I find the Italian translation a bit off, so I keep watching them in English. I love everything about that tv show, even if I'm an hardcore fan of Meredith and Derek mostly. I'm currently watching Castle, The Mentalist, New Girl and I saw the end of Chuck as well, even if I don't write about them. I watch Private Practice most Tuesday and I stopped watching One Tree Hill after the departure of Lucas. Maybe someday I'll watch the following seasons too, just convince me, one of my dearest friends almost got me trapped again ;) Fringe is something I never imagined myself to enjoy, but I do and I'm sad the fifth is gonna be the final season. I fell in love with Bones a couple of years ago, after my friends kept bugging me for a year to watch the 6 series and when I finally did it, I wanted to hit myself with a frying pan for missing out on such a good show! The most recent crushes are Rizzoli & Isles for the incredibly witty humor and the badass female characters and Suits because it's Suits and Harvey is a name with a nice ring. Let's not forget about the brand new Chicago Fire; it has firefighters in it, I think it's enough to keep watching!

I listen to all kinds of music, but lately I'm very into acoustic stuff, like Kings of Convenience, all the acoustic recordings of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs give me shivers, Iron & Wine, Band of Horses but also most of the songs I can find in the shows (Ben Leftwich and Bon Iver/Justin Vernon on top of them all). The most recent musical crush is with The National, a huge crush as you could see while I update my stories. Most music I love can be found in the titles of my stories or in chapters and, despite how much I look around to find perfect titles, sometimes songs are just perfect. If you need some links whatsoever don't hesitate to ask, most of them could be found on YouTube without much ado though.

Hope Is The Thing With Feathers: Post S8/plane crash story. It started out as a one shot but ended up being very Meredith and Derek centric. It's about love, loss, family ties and developing relationships. It's the first story without songs in titles, not even in the main title, since it's the first line of a poem by Emily Dickinson. I put a lot of thought in that but some chapters just wrote by themselves. On-going.

I Missed You For 29 Years: My summer project, started a year before the actual date I published it. It's a journey of discovery, a trip, a dream holiday I had for a long time. It's personal and might not be very exciting at first, I hope it will get better with the passing chapters. It's not all romance, but friendship has a big part in this too. Meredith is 21, fresh out of college and unsure if she wants to go to Med School. Derek is a second year resident in New York. Their paths will cross and collide, creating something magical. There will be trains, food, cars, rain, sun, cities, sightseeing, beaches and fun. On-going.

L, Is For The Way You Look At Me: aka Adjectives Series. This is somewhat a personal challenge. I read a similar project made for Bones by nattylovesjordy and I fell in love with the idea. I wrote down a few ideas and bang, I had the ground to start this story. It's a series of one-shots, ordered by the letters of the alphabet, all tied together with different adjectives, more or less meaningful for the story. I decided to explore my usual Meredith/Derek dynamic, since I was comfortable with it, going through meaningful moments or simply a way to fix what for me didn't feel good. It's healing and a challenge to just keep writing and it ended up being strictly connected to the events on the show, more or less. I loved writing some of the stuff there, maybe only because I could make sense to a few storylines that had been floating in my head for a long time. Complete. 26 chapters, but I bet you knew this one already!

Love Is A Doing Word: MerDer AU. Derek divorced Addison and moved to Seattle with his red-haired 4 year old, Eden. They bump into Meredith on his first day and from that moment on, things change for both of them. I'm very proud of this story because it's my first AU. I worked on it for a while, then simply decided it was worth publishing. It paid off every bit. 46 chapters. Complete.

You See All My Light And You Love My Dark: MerDer. My beginning of S8, inspired by Everything by Alanis Morissette. It follows the aftermath of the argument in the residents locker room, exploring both Derek and Meredith's PoVs, outlined with the lyrics of the song. Derek will leave Seattle and Meredith will have to handle Zola alone, together with work, the board decision and trying to bring back Alex home. Minor appeareances of other characters as well. 13 chapters. Complete.

Pizza House: One-shot. Crazy one-shot. It involves Grey's Anatomy as a whole, pizza and Mike, a delivery boy I made up for the purpose of this story. Probably one of the best things I could pick up from my real-life move to Bologna for university and transform into something funny. It's light and spans through all major events in the show, up to mid/a quarter of Season 8. Everything is simply seen from another perspective. Oh and I like food, so it's a win-win!

I Need My Girl: One-shot. Post 8x21. What if Meredith got her moment with Zola on her chest? I was itching to write it, so I just took a day off and published it. Inspired by Meredith and Cristina's conversations in the episode and The National's song with the same exact title. Mainly about Meredith missing Zola, but Derek will be there too, don't worry.

Soft Shock: Post prom in S2. MerDer. I had this idea in my head for a while and I just gave in at some point. I'm really proud of a couple of those chapters in there. It's a classic storyline, explored so many times, but I hope I had changes and twisted it just enough to make it interesting. It really needs a little editing, but I'll get around it when I won't have any more ideas and nothing to do. 25 chapters. Complete. With a sequel (see below)

Thank You, aka Seventeen Years Later: Sequel of Soft Shock. It's very very AU at this point, features the life in the Shepherds' house in the woods 17 years later after Grace's birth. Grace is a young woman already and she has also two brothers Kieran, 14, Derek carbon-copy, reserved and quiet kid, and Nathan, 6, a tornado, the only child that somehow is more like Meredith, even in character. Some minor appeareances of the other characters all throughout the story, when secrets from the past will be revealed and bits and pieces from their lives will be explored. 21 chapters. Complete.

You Suddenly Complete Me: MerDer. First multichapter story I have actually pulled together. It would need some polishing and I might do it someday, but for now, it stays that way. It's my take on how S7 could have unfolded, picking up a while late just like Shonda did, with way less drama. It was therapeutical, more than anything. 33 chapters. Complete.

Me In You: One-shot, MerDer. A moment during the S&M. Meredith reflects upon their currend telationship with Derek. Inspired by a stanza of Oscar Wilde's The Ballad Of Reading Gaol I had in my English book back in high school. I just stumbled upon it while I was bored in lesson and this is what happens when you fill sheets of paper with stories instead of paying attention to your nice teacher.

I Fear Your Closed Eyes: AU. Derek goes to Afghanistan to work with his sister Amelia at a Red Cross camp, Meredith will stay in Seattle. How the separation will affect the both of them? How will they cope with the distance? What is Meredith hiding? Three-shot. Probably AU, even it the premise could fit in the Grey's storyline. I don't know a lot about military life but I tried to make it as believable as possible. Complete. Open for a sequel or a fill-the-gaps story, not quite yet though.

Many more ideas are building up in my hard drive, but let's focus on the ongoing stories for now, shall we? And university too, yeah, right ;)
