Long live Broken Hallelujah. 11/30/12 A quick update just to say that you guys got me up to (and over) 2,000 views for the month. I do believe I'm right in saying that's the first time that's happened for me. We'll call it an early Christmas present and you don't have to get me anything else this year. :) 11/29/12 So, my next story won't be Dragon Age; in fact, it won't be fan fiction at all. True to my Pittsburgh roots I'm going to be working on a zombie story. Don't know how long it'll be, don't know how it'll take, but I'm gonna get started on it today or tomorrow. There's one more chapter of Broken Hallelujah to go up, too, so hopefully I'll be done with the first chapter of the zombie fic before the last chapter of Broken Hallelujah goes up. Anyway. If you, like me, like zombies (or like to kill some zombies), you'll be able to find that story over on my Fictionpress which is linked above. Title pending. I'll let you know. 11/15/12 A quick update: 1) Still no internet at my new place (but it's pretty rad here). Have been updating entirely from my phone. Thank heaven for Blackberries. 2) Not doing NaNo; just no time even to get my thoughts together. Today is my first day to do nothing. So I finally unpacked. 3) Hooked up the old Xbox (and my priorities have become evident) to play some DA:O today. Seriously contemplating writing some Origins fiction. Just don't know what about - yet. Any ideas? 4) Reviews are always nice. :) 10/31/12 Happy Halloween! I'm going to try to do NaNoWriMo again this year, despite the month of November containing my move, the election, the man and my one-year anniversary, and working sixty hours a week. If I update anything with that, it'll be on my FictionPress page, and my pen name is the same there as it is here. I probably won't update actively, and especially not until I do some editing to whatever it is I end up writing, so don't expect that up until at least late November, and more realistically, December. That being said, I'm having so much fun replaying DA:O and writing all this DA:II stuff I might just keep this up as much as I can. Don't get me wrong, if I write ANYTHING in November it'll be for NaNo. But don't expect Broken Hallelujah to be my last Dragon Age hurrah. 10/26/12 The epilogue was killing me. But it's finished. Broken Hallelujah is complete. Also, taking some time tonight to work on, possibly finish, my Alistair and the Warden mix (and if I'm feeling really motivated and don't just go back to playing Dragon Age, possibly the Anders mix). That'll be found at my 8tracks, to which I have a link above. (Edit: Alistair and The Warden mix is up.) 10/25/12 Just a quick reminder that, if you've read through all of Broken Hallelujah and are just waiting for me, please do check out Likely Alliance (if you haven't already). It's finished, so there's no waiting around for me to find two minutes in the day to upload a new chapter. 10/14/12 So. Guys. I am going to be working a lot and packing and subsequently moving until November. If I don't update as much, please know I have not abandoned you. I'm just working all the hours and finally moving into a place of my own (being a grown up is hard work. I don't recommend it). Also, I am still working on those mix tapes. I have a pretty solid one for Anders, and a great Alistair & The Warden mix. I just need ten minutes to breathe, check them over, and actually upload them. 10/9/12 If any of you are big on mixtapes, go on and check out my 8tracks! I'm gonna be working on mixes for all of my favorite Dragon Age characters! The Anders and Fenris mixes are in the works right now and should be posted in the next couple of days or so. They're also good soundtracks to play along with the game, if I may say so myself. :) I already have one Dragon Age mix, based on the Mage's Rebellion. The link for my page is at the top of my profile. 9/30/12 Just wanna take a moment to say a special hello to Keyarayek, who is a great asset to the Dragon Age community. I checked out her profile page recently and found that she is one of those truly selfless readers who has written nothing of her own but makes special pains to advertise authors and stories she thinks are particularly good. Without fans, without readers, we the writers would be nothing at all. She's reviewed Broken Hallelujah three times on three separate chapters, always making my day. Hope the rest of you are also enjoying the story. Thanks for reading, guys. 9/27/12 Not that this has anything to do with anything, but new avatar. 9/26/12 All of Broken Hallelujah is written. All but the epilogue. I'm pretty excited. 9/23/12 One new chapter up, one new chapter written. Working on a second one for the day right now. They're short, but I think you folks'll like 'em. I suppose this is a fair point to note we're coming up on the end of Broken Hallelujah. There's a fair bit left, so don't fear, but I hope you've been enjoying the ride. I'll be honest when I say I have no idea what I'll work on after this, but I've had such a good time with these last few stories I definitely want to stay in the game. Maybe I'll have to go back to my old friend the Xbox and see what else I can skim from the Dragon Age universe. You never know. Maybe something will pique my interest enough to keep us all tided over until Inquisition. 9/19/12 You guys have done it again. More than 1000 hits for the month. That's the third month in a row. I love you guys. That is all. 9/17/12 Just wanted to let you all know that when I receive a really sweet review, I always take time to reply and say thanks. I got to do that once this morning and it made my day so nice. Additionally: I'm sure you've all heard by now that Dragon Age III: Inquisition has been announced! I'm hoping, based on nothing more than the title (and indeed, not too much more than the title has been volunteered by BioWare at the date of this writing) that it has more to do with mages, a la a Spanish Inquisition sort of thing, so we'll see. Either way, that's more fodder for me, since you all seem to enjoy these little flights of fancy so much. However, the game isn't expected until late 2013, so why am I bringing it up now (other than to make all of you who hadn't yet heard go "eeeeeeee")? Because it means I'm going to go back and start playing Dragon Age over from the beginning. Which means I'll probably be writing a tonne more in the immediate future. And, because of that, and all the positive feedback I've been getting, I've started writing more to Broken Hallelujah. And I know how it's going to end. 9/5/12 New profile picture. Shock, awe. Nothing else to report. 9/4/12 You people. Not even a full four days into the month of September, I haven't even uploaded any new chapters, and I have 99 hits on the story. You people are beautiful. New chapter tomorrow, and maybe I'll even get something new written (I haven't. I've been... things). 8/29/12 Posted the 13th chapter of Broken Hallelujah on what's guaranteed to be an incredibly shitty day in my life. No oversharing needed, just thought the juxtaposition was a little bit funny. Also, you guys and the ridiculous amount of hits I get on these chapters always make me feel better and Maker knows I could use it. Reviews always welcome, but you don't need me to tell you that. 8/23/12 Just a quick little update to say thank you! Sometime yesterday, my stories reached 1,000 hits for the month, 955 of them for Broken Hallelujah alone! That's by far the most I've ever gotten since I started keeping track, and it's definitely the first time I've hit (and now gone significantly over) 1,000 since I joined the site years and years ago. You guys are the best. Thanks very much. And for the concerned reviewer from yesterday, the job hunt is going well. :) Thanks again, guys. 8/22/12 All nine remaining chapters of Broken Hallelujah (that's 19 total) have been uploaded. But never fear, readers, all that means is I need to get off of my ass (or, more accurately, on my ass) and write again. I'm gearing up for NaNoWriMo (yes I know it's not even September) but I'd never let you guys suffer along with out an ending. We'll just have to see if I can figure out what it is before then. 7/30/12 Sorry about the slow-going between chapters lately; haven't had a lot of opportunity to use a real computer lately (or should I say, connect my real computer to the internet) and the more I use the mobile site (or the full site on my mobile) the more angry it makes me. So there's that. But! A new chapter is up and it's much longer than the previous few have been so I hope it tides you fine folk over for a while, and I likewise hope that it doesn't have to tide you over as long as it's been of late. Enjoy! 7/1/12 I have so much of Broken Hallelujah written it's ridiculous. I just keep uploading chapters. I know how I want to end it (no spoilers, I promise) but how I want to get there... well, it's a process. That's good for you, because if you're liking it, it means you've got a lot to look forward to. It's bad for me because dear lord I have so many loose ends. Or, at least, I feel like I do. I could probably cut to the chase and it would be an alright ending, but I've never been the sort. I do just go on, don't I. Anyway, if you are liking what you're reading, reviews are, as always, welcome. I suppose this is also a good time to confess I might go back to working on some non-fan fiction after this; a little while back I was rewriting a vampire story I'd posted a long time ago. I might give that another shot now that I have more headspace and no new Dragon Age ideas (at least, not at the time of this update). 6/19/12 That's the big news, I suppose, but it's probably worth mentioning that I changed the story image for Likely Alliance to a Fenris sketch I did (the Anders sketch for Broken Hallelujah is also mine own creation). | |||||||
