Author has written 1 story for Kino's Journey. Apologies for the terribly long hiatus - I blame only my procrastination. Hello all, I'm an amateur fanfiction writer who wants to gauge his writing skills - all constructive feedback is highly welcomed, but please be gentle! I'm a bit of a dilettante too, developing my perception of a character and/or story based on my first encounter with them unless I follow it more. So I would tend to write with characters seemingly OOC, but that's how I view them, and the story didn't do enough to change my perception. Steampunk and fantastic travel settings are my bibliophilic erogenous zones! Be it dystopic or a paradise in the balance, I love well-done imageries of huge mechanical pieces and/or electronic sophistry; engineering marvels hurr~ The theme of the story should be understandable to a 12-year old (derp) though! I also like the very well-done anime adaptation of Kino no Tabi, a series of light novels by Keiichi Sigsawa detailing the travels of the protagonist Kino and motorrad Hermes. The anime is beautiful, and the settings well-fleshed out. Thought-provoking too, as the anime doubles as criticism of ourselves. Unfortunately I have not actually read the novels. Books I've devoured include the Mortal Engines quartet and the Larklight trilogy by Philip Reeve, Rivers of Fire by Patrick Carman, Dirty Magic by Carol Hughes, The Pearl by John Steinbeck and 1984 by George Orwell. I'm being a bit too longwinded for my own good. Thank you for putting up with me, and I hope you enjoy what I have to offer! | |||||||
