Author has written 7 stories for Flame of Recca, Slam Dunk, and Ouran High School Host Club.

Hibaku - 'Waterfall from a high place'. Can also mean 'to be affected by an explosion'.

Fun facts:

1) I am getting married NEXT YEAR(!!!) but here I am still rotting my butt off writing fics.

2) I have an issue with my thighs.

3) I spend my days awake in bed thinking of subplots.

4) I am considered to be a sloth by my future husband, which is something that is to be regretted.

5) I am still a virgin - I would probably die a virgin if the wedding falls through. (I don't mind dying a virgin.)

x

Mainly I want to use this page to inform my readers about my fics, and as a general rule I:

1) Don't do yaoi because I don't like it. You may not want to read my fics after you hear me saying this, but I disapprove of homosexuality. Yes, yes, flame me if you want. Honestly, I do not dislike nor disapprove of people who like yaoi because I don't think that's my prerogative. For example, some of my best buds love Gravitation, but I don't. Some of my best FFnet pals even write yaoi, but it doesn't mean I stop being friends with them. So if you like yaoi and you like my fic, I'm fine with it.

2) I don't write lemons. But they're banned on FFnet anyway. For those who don't know what lemons are, they are sexually depictive fics that are practically porn-in-text. They were very popular before FFnet imposed the ban. (Yes, I have been here for a long time.)

3) I write for myself, and I appreciate those who really like my fics. But ultimately, I have the final say in whatever I write. Hence, even if I do take your reviews into consideration, please don't be angry if I do not use your ideas.

Other things to know:

1) Why I write for myself
I lead a very mundane but stressed life. XD I'm a Media and Communications student, so you have to understand that my ideas get rejected often and my decisions are always questioned.

I also write for a newsletter. Sometimes I have to rewrite the whole article because my editor wants me to change the angle of my story. Hence, writing fanfiction is something that I use to dispel all my stress, since I am the ultimate decision maker in whatever I want to publish. I hope you don't think that I reject your ideas just because I want to 'pass the bad vibes on' from my editor - it's not that. It's just that I do things that way.

2) Why I can't seem to write romance properly, even though my genres are usually Humor/Romance
Well, well, well. Ever since I started fic writing in 2000, my romance fics were extremely cheesy and hair-raising. Honestly, I am not good at romance. I can't handle romantic situations well. Even in real life, I am horribly mushy when it comes to my boyfriend. That's why my genres are always Humor/Romance and never Romance/Humor.

I quit writing romance somewhere in 2002, when I eked out a living in the Slam Dunk section. My first SD fic ended in a very friendship-py note, and quite a number of my readers were happy with it, so I thought - "Why not?" And since then, not doing romance has been quite a trademark of mine XD

But if I don't do romance, then why does my genre still contain the word 'romance'? Well, that's because I hint at it. I'm not good at direct situations, but I believe I can handle subtlety pretty well. I use soliloquys and body language, so if you want to see some romance you really have to keep your eyes peeled.

3) Common characteristics of my fics
My pet plots... contain OCs. Original characters. I can't live without them XD Recently I've taken to experimenting with male OCs, and it turned out that everybody hated him because he had to play the role of the antagonist XDDD Poor Tadashi (from My Flatmate is an Icecube). He was conceived when one of my classmates (who is also one of my best buds) drew him for a commercial. Very handsome young man. (Remember we're all Media students, we do stuff like that XD)

I like to have OCs live with a character originally in the story. For example, for My Flatmate is an Icecube, my OC actually lives with Rukawa. In Bigger Steps, my OC will live with Haruhi.

Another characteristic of my fics is that I do not handle third-person views very well. I normally write in the first person, and Unforetold, Saturnine Seasons is the only exception. The plot for that one was too complicated to be doing in first-person, it would only bore the eyes out of the reader. Unfortunately, I believe it has already bored everyone's eyes out because I have had very little reviews for that one XD However I stopped because I LOST THE PAPER WHICH I DID THE WHOLE PLOT OUTLINE IN. Gah. And it was very manga-based also, which few people have read. However I'd like to continue it someday, when I have the strength to redo the plot outline.

4) What I am up with right now
My current baby is Bigger Steps, an Ouran High School Host Club trilogy. The first part, These Rich Bastards, is basically told in Haruhi's point-of-view, and it introduces two new characters in the place of Mori and Honey, who will graduate in Chapter 3. It circles very much around friendship and perhaps romance, I haven't decided on any pairings yet but I'm pretty certain I'll follow what's in the original series as much as I can. Oh yes, and my plot for this one is rather hard to follow, so please keep your eyes open.

The second part, Ootoro, will be told in Kyouya's point-of-view, and it centres around the Host Club's plan to restore the heir of the Mikazawa family and help Midoribana Touhi realize his real dreams. Incidentally, the two OCs will also start to blend in as 'real' hosts. On top of that, this chapter will drop hints on who Haruhi would most probably choose. No explicit answers given, though.
Edit: I am changing the POV to Hideyo's because writing in Kyoya's POV takes a certain amount of calibre and I do not believe I have that. Not for now, at least.

Last but not least, Something Like That will wrap up the trilogy. I can't reveal much about this, but the Host Club plus Mori, Honey and Ranka go on a trip overseas and many (weird and funny) things happen. The point-of-view is undecided, but Tamaki is a likely choice. Ranka or one of the OCs are also highly possible candidates. I presume the OCs would be more comfortable to read, for a change. (And it's easier to write.) Haruhi's heart may also be won... Still under construction _;;

A titbit for those who like Bigger Steps and have never read my fics before - I put a lot of emphasis on plot intricacies, and I apologise if I let the characters go slightly out of sync. I do try my best to hold the characters in, but I admit I'm not very good at that since I'm more accustomed to paying more attention to the plot, and the character development of my OCs. I apologise for this negligence in advance, do forgive. But I will do my best, because this fic is my debut in the Ouran High School Host Club fandom.

I have also gone back to the SD fandom after some reviewers have told me they would love to see a sequel to My Flatmate is an Icecube. The new installment is called My Flatmate is an Artist, because it is told in Rukawa's point-of-view. Actually I've been itching to write a Slam Dunk fic, so I think this particular sequel will probably be a good one. However I think it may be rather mellow compared to My Flatmate is an Icecube. It will probably also span ten chapters, nothing more. I still have the Bigger Steps trilogy to settle XD

5) Reviewing
I like reviews just as much as any author. Or maybe less, since I really do write for my own pleasure... XD Just remember, authors are humans too, and as much as we would want to write a good fic, there's a lot of work involved in doing so. I would like it even more if constructive criticism is provided, and advice given. Please try to understand that after all the hard work that I have put into my works (I have spent a few months trying to settle the ending of Bigger Steps: These Rich Bastards and have engaged in various conversations with different parties about the plot and subplots) it's SUCH an irritation to see "MORE! MORE!" or "Hurry up with the next chapter!". Here's my answer: I cannot hurry up. I have my limits and my life. Sigh. Sorry I sound pissed off.

I avoid giving one-liner reviews. That's because I am an author too, and when I only have one-liner reviews I feel that the reader hasn't paid much attention to my style and my story. Often I tell myself that that's not the case, but one can't help feeling that way sometimes. That's why when I review other people's fics, I would read it a few times and highlight the portions I liked and the portions I didn't like. It gives a lot of help and encouragement to the author, I believe, when reviewers do that.

6) Miscellaneous stuff that might not interest you
I speak English, Mandarin and Japanese. I've spoken the former two all my life, and I started picking up Japanese eight years ago. However I have to say that I'm still not extremely fluent, and there's a lot to improve. If you want a good gauge of my level of Japanese, I'd probably say I know enough to understand 80 percent of what an unsubbed episode of Ouran High School Host Club is talking about, 15 percent is guess-work and the remaining 5 percent is incomprehension. But yes, I understand enough to enjoy watching it, but not enough to be able to sub it perfectly.

I try to avoid using Japanese while I write fics so as to minimise confusion.

Full summary for My Flatmate is an Artist
Tokita Kaede is avoiding Rukawa. He did not lie to her, but he did not tell her that he did not take his university entrance exam, resigned from Kouei Publishing and joined the All Japan. He did tell her on the day when the postings were announced and he didn't get posted to any institution though, and that sparked off an inevitable turn of events - Toki moves out of her own apartment. He has tried to look for her for three months, but before he has found her, Tadashi appears.
