Okay... about me, huh? Well, I'm a very interesting person (probably a lot more interesting in person, but I guess I could try to describe myself a bit here as well. Okay... I love writing, and I write fanfics and I've also been working on two original book series. Oh, and I write a lot of poetry, too. It's one of my talents I guess.

Okay... some of the things I'm interested in, aside from reading and writing, are animals, anime, and outdoor activities. Most of my friends are gamers (and I love them to death) but I try to avoid getting into games... mostly just because when I obsess over something, I spend all of my time on it. Yes... I do get obsessions rather easily, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. Anime is definately one of the things I obsess over, usually one show at a time in stages... I did also go through a Lord of the Rings phaze too though... thank goodness I'm out of that one. Obsessions means spending a lot of money, that I usually regret spending when the obsession is over...

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention some of the important stuff (or not, depending on what you wanna know). I live in Alberta Canada. I was just looking over some of my fics, actually, and I realised that most of them were posted years ago. I read some of them over, and I couldn't believe the difference in writing style. Man, have I ever improved since then. I think it's a good thing to be able to do; reflect on your own work and see how you've improved over the years... I know I definately have. Or maybe I was just plain bad back then...

So anyways, right now I am 18 years old. Just turned 18 last week actually. Do I feel 18? Hell no... I still feel like a kid, but I'm not really complaining. People these days just grow up way too fast. I live on an acreage, so I've got lots of pets, including horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and my adorable goat, Zakari. (He is my pride and joy, and can do no wrong much to my family's dismay. He should be turning a year this winter.) Right, back on topic, I also have a younger brother and sister. My sisters 15, and sort of... weird. Well, we've got totally different interests. For one thing, she's a girl - gasp. Yes, I'm a girl too, in case you were wondering, but I mean she's one of those girly-girls. I am SO not. My brother on the other hand, is turning 10, so he's very easily influenced. I've been working hard to mold his mind into liking anime... hehe... don't worry - it's for his own good. I got him obsessed with Miyazaki, Inu Yasha, and as soon as I get home it's on to Fullmetal Alchemist. I love my brother... he's the only one in my family who can understand my love for anime...

Um... right now I am in Japan, and I have been for the past three months. I'm doing a homestay thing. I'm also feeling a bit homesick, but that's just because my horse is sick and I want to get home to him. The bonus is that there is a WAY better internet connection here than there is at my place, and I have recently discovered the two Gods of the Internet: Limewire, and Youtube! If it weren't for Youtube, I might never have watched Wolf's Rain and FMA. Seriously, those were two anime's I was avoiding because I thought they looked dumb (so shoot me) but when I checked them out, cuz there was nothing else to do with my time, I fell in love! drool So when I get home, guess what I'm buying...

I should probably end it now... I feel like I've been typing for a while... Oh, and since I'm updating my profile, I'll leave some of the basics down below too.

Anyways, righto then, once again I am an anime lover, and my favorites include most of Miyazaki's works, Fullmetal Alchemist, Digimon Tamers, Wolf's Rain, Vision of Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, .hack//SIGN, Gundam SEED (I've yet to watch Destiny), Card Captor Sakura, and Inu-Yasha. I have also loved Sailor Moon since I was about five.

Before I forget, I thought I would explain the significance of my name. I'm sure you care (not), but I'll say it anyways. Two reasons really. The first is a thing at school, since my friend and I were both named "Shay," and my middle name starts with a D, so it ended up being Shay D. Say it fast and it sounds way cooler, so I just spell it like that, hehe. The other reason was just because in Japanese that's what my name sounds like. They can't pronounce it right, so that's how it's said. Okay, I'm finished now, really...
