Author has written 46 stories for UC: UnderCover, Mummy, Gundam Wing/AC, Poltergeist: the Legacy, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Magnificent Seven, James Bond, Star Wars, Robin Hood BBC, Torchwood, Misc. Movies, National Treasure, and Transformers.

Greetings and salutations! I've been writing fanfiction for a VERY long time, even before I knew what it was called. That was, in fact, how I first started writing. In addition to what's listed above, I've written fanfiction for Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, the Magnificent Seven tv-show, Homefront, Buck Rogers, and the original Battlestar Galactica. The picture in my profile is from a recent Highland Games I attended. Yes, that is me and yes, I am of Scottish descent...also German, English, Swedish, Irish, Dutch, and possibly Italian.

I've adored Sean Bean for nearly twenty years, and waited almost ten years to finally see him playing a good guy (our poor Boromir). Alec Trevelyan (Goldeneye) and Ian Howe (National Treasure) have both joined my 'bad boy brigade,' along with Gabriel van Helsing (his choice, not mine) and Luke in Dust. I'm sure there will be more additions. Sean Miller (Patriot Games) will not be among them. Messing with kids is a big no-no with me. . .no matter how gorgeous a man happens to be.

Favorite actors aside from Sean Bean include: Oded Fehr; Dale Midkiff; Tim Dunigan; Hugh Jackman; Patrick Fitzgerald; Michael Biehn; Robert Downey Jr; Dylan Neal; Jon Voight; Adam Baldwin; John Rhys-Davies; Ted King; Ron Perlman; John Barrowman; Arnold Vosloo; Peter Cullen, Nathan Fillion; Derek de Lint; and Sean Connery. Honorable mentions goes to Douglas Henshall (Nick Cutter in Primeval); Gareth David Lloyd; Brian Drummond (voice of Zechs Merquise in Gundam Wing); Christian Bale; Jude Law; Gerard Butler (if only for Leonidas in 300), Daragh O'Malley: Ewan McGregor (if only for Obi-Wan Kenobi); Josh Duhamel; and Jason Carter. While I went to see all three Transformers movies for the giant alien robots, I freely admit that Will Lennox and Bobby Epps are my two absolute favorite human characters, although SecDef John Keller comes in right behind them. No, the four teenagers (Sam, Mikaela, Miles, and Leo) don't interest me.

Favorite actresses include: Patricia Velazquez; Laurie Holden; Kristin Lehman; Cote de Pablo; Robin Christopher; Summer Glau; Grace Park; Mira Furlan; Alexa Havins; Gina Torres; and Famke Janssen. Honorable mention goes to Colleen Rennison and Abigail Stone (because they broke my heart as Senephra in the Doppleganger episode of Poltergeist: The Legacy and as Ebrill in The Dark respectively).

In the same vein. . .I play a game with my friends, casting actors as siblings. A few of my favored sibling groups include: Robert Downey Jr and Jeffrey Dean Morgan; Sean Bean, Jude Law and Ewan McGregor (maybe Douglas Henshall as well); Oded Fehr, Patricia Velazquez, and Cote de Pablo; Dale Midkiff, Paul Gross (aka Constable Benton Fraser in Due South) and John Barrowman; Dylan Neal, Robert Sean Leonard, and Kavan Smith. More to follow as they occur to me.

In addition to my fanfiction stories listed below, I'm also in the process of writing several original novels, which are too numerous to name. My main project at the moment is doing research for a story about an underground city. I couldn't swear to it, but I think it was inspired by watching the episode of Cities of the Underworld which featured Cappadocia, Turkey.

I don't mention my political or religious beliefs, because quite frankly, they aren't anyone's business. I suppose you could probably figure out those beliefs (or ask directly), but I'm also sure you have better things to do with your time and energy. However, I will let you know a few things that irritate me enough to make me stop reading a story. A) demonizing and deifying characters. Quite frankly, even if I dislike the character who is being demonized, or adore the character being deified, it still annoys me. Do I do it? I was very bad about it when I was younger, but I hope I've mostly grown out of it and it's something I do try to avoid. On very rare occasions, if I don't trust myself to write a character fairly, I simply won't do anything with that character. B) The usual bad writing. I don't mind occasional typos. . .I'm also inclined to cut people who speak English as a second language leeway. Nor will I hassle someone for using British/Australian/Canadian spellings. By the same token, I'm an American, and unless I'm writing a letter from the perspective of a British or Canadian or Australian character, I'll use American spelling. C) I will stop reading any SW fic which attacks the Organas or the Lars families for 'stealing Leia/Luke from their rightful parents.' As someone who plans to eventually adopt, there aren't words for how much this offends me. Now, I won't flame the story. I just won't finish it (and think twice about reading further stories from that author). Considering the twins' mother in ROTS was a pathetic coward who gave up on life and their father was in the thrall of Palpatine (who would have destroyed any good influences Vader had), the Organa and the Lars families didn't steal the twins. They saved them. And that is all I have to say on that matter.

My favorite writers? That tends to change, according to what I'm reading at the time. Perennial favorites are Guy Gavriel Kay (my writing hero), Lynn Kurland, Vince Flynn, Jude Deveraux, and James Rollins. I listen to music while I'm writing...it helps me to focus. Soundtracks are my favorites, especially the LOTR soundtracks, the scores for both Transformers movies, 300, XMen Origins: Wolverine, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I also like Alkaemy, Survivor (particular during the years Jimi Jamison was the lead singer); Celtic Woman, Cusco, Daughtry, Clannad, The Celtic Tenors, Nickelback, Miriam Stockley, 3 Doors Down, John Barrowman, and David Arkenstone. I've recently rediscovered my love for Mr. Mister (Kyrie is an unbelievably awesome song) and am intrigued with what I've heard of Shinedown.

What provides inspiration for my stories? A better question would be, what doesn't! My previous jobs, newspaper stories, magazine stories, people I encounter. My nieces and nephews are additional contributors (a grand total of fourteen between my immediate family and the children of my dearest friends). A number of the children featured in my stories are patterned after them (for instance, Lacey in Champions is patterned after my now-six year old niece, while Annie Howe in Heart Bound in Chains is a composite of my my oldest and second youngest nieces). I'm hoping to adopt a child sometime in the future, and once that happens, I'm sure I'll find quite a bit of inspiration in that. I do a lot of mental plotting while I'm driving and when I'm in the shower. Partly because I'm either not focusing on anything in particular or focusing only on the road. Somewhat to my consternation, I'm discovering that Nickelback is a great source of inspiration for one-shots. Their most recent CD Dark Horse has already provided a one-shot, which will be written and posted once I figure out where to put it (Just to Get High is the song in question) The Gwethil, of which I'm a member, is also a wonderful source of inspiration. (blows kiss to my brother and sisters in the Gwethil)

I also have an account on Teaspoon and an Open Mind (www.whofic.com) as LadySwan, if you're curious about stories that are missing here.

Several of my stories are on hiatus, as those muses have gone on vacation, but I haven't abandoned them. My job search continues to be my main priority, as I've been unemployed for nearly two years. In the meantime, there are other stories which might be of interest: Beware the Fury, a combination of Troy canon and the original Iliad, with a bit of my own 'verse thrown in (when I finally get it organized); Crossroads, a crossover/fusion between Captain Power and Sharpe; Worlds Apart, a newly-posted series which crosses Torchwood and Transformers (Bay-verse), and will eventually incorporate elements of the last two movies; and a long-simmering crossover between Equilibrium and Firefly/Serenity. In the meantime, the Champions series remains my greatest project, along with two Star Wars fics.
